I always thought that the first 3 Led Zeppelin albums were too overated. They were too bluesy, and the songs sounded pretty much the same. I think George Harrison's advice of doing some ballads and experimenting with other genres did them well. |

Shame on me, but I never liked Led Zepp and Pink Floyd, too. Boring is the best word to describe them. Nirvana was also a piece of shit, nobody would remember them if Kurt Cobain, the infamous drug addict, wouldn't have killed himself. Today there are many bands who "suck": Coldplay, Oasis. I really don't like Linkin Park and their clone around Fred Durst. I don't speak about boygroups like Backstreet Boys or 'Nsync, because they aren't really band, just casted companies. |

Then I realized that the joy of listening to Pink Floyd is the complexity of their songs and the fact that it goes against anything catchy or commercially appealing for that matter. Hence why Pink Floyd lacked immediate radio appeal, but instead had extremely strong album sales that remained strong in the long run. It was the complete opossite of dispossable pop songs. |

Also...50 Cent, Beyonce, Britney, Lindsay Lohan, The Game, Linkin Park...and... ..please no egg throwing, but I agree with the person who said Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, which I will add The Doors into that mix. Growing up in a home where BOTH my mother and my brother played those 3 bands 24/7, I certainly was exposed to their music enough, but found it all very repetitive, too testosterone teen driven, meandering, and with The Doors...self indulgent and downright creepy. Jim Morrison..poet my ass. Went on about being the self proclaimed ''Lizard King'' and thought his lyrics and that he was all that. News, he wasn't all that. He was the original Kurt Cobain. Whiner, had everything. Died looking like fat Elvis in Paris. |

Same thing. Vince Neil used to be damn hot. Not as hot as Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee in the Crue, but hot nonetheless. Damn, I had the hots for him. Then I saw Vince on was it ''The Sureeal Life''? He's also fairly young, like early 40's. But had become a fat Elvis. I don't get how say, Mick Jagger or Paul McCartney or David Bowie say...are in their 50's, excuse me...60's...tour, are rich, can eat anything they want and stay fit and trim. These 80's rockers are in their 30's and 40's and are big fat ugly Elvises. Must be an 80's thing. Though Nikki and Tommy in the Crue kept their weight down. I still think Nikki Sixx is so fucking HOT, and actually a decent guy. He and his wife Donna have done Hollywood Squares alot when they have their charity celebrity couples weeks, and without all the Motley Crue makeup, he is fine and a real sweetie gentleman. |

Arlene, i agree with that, nikki is a great guy, and very low keyed and level headed for someone as famous as he is. i met him last year when he came to the odean in cleveland with his "new" band brides of distruction (with tracii guns), he was so cool, about 5-6 fans, myself and the band stood outside on the street for about 20 min. talking about this and that, getting signatures, ect. he seems to not have changed at all in 20 years, and maybe they do have a good workout plan or something...maybe its the non usage of drugs and drink now days |

Also, he and Tommy appeared with John Walsh on ''America's Most Wanted'', the USA TV show that helps find criminal fugitives, for a show about a Glen Burnie, Maryland woman who turned up missing when she was supposed to see motley Crue on tour here in Washington DC a few months ago. Tommy and Nikki were standing with TV host John Walsh, but Nikki did 90% of the talking about how Motley Crue had put up a reward to find her and for the public to phone in tips to find her. I've read alot of the Crue's book 'The Dirt'' and their HUGE NEW Cover Story/Interview in Classic Rock Magazine, and I must say, considering all the drugs Nikki did, and the drug overdoses Nikki had (he almost died a few times), he is VERY lukcy to be alive and I think he really appreciated his music and the band now. He is very down to earth, articulate, intelliget, humorous, the definite creative leader of the band, and like a said, a real sweetheart. If that man were single, I'd go out with him in a heartbeat. |

Holy crap. I must be a softie or something... I must disagree totally w/ hating Led Zeppelin. Idk... I love... The Killers Josh Groban (my fav. singer) Green Day Led Zeppelin AC/DC And I hate... Any rap music out there. My friends think I'm weird and too many people sterotype me just because I'm 15 they think I LOVE rap. I hate it. Classic rock is better. And some stuff today. Why hasn't anyone brought up Clay Aiken, Kelly Clarkson, Justin however-you-say-his-last-name, Ruben Studdard, etc.? |
