I speak of Piers Anthony's long running (the 30th book in it is coming out soon!) Xanth series of fantasy fiction books....where puns reign supreme and everyone has a magic talent (even people that migrate in from other lands eventually get one!)
I've just recently been re-re-re-re-reading (heh) a few of them that I still have laying around while I wait for OctOgre, er, I mean October to roll around for the next installment to be released....
It's really one of my favorite serieses (is that a word?).....I'd recommend it to anyone that likes fantasy with a humorous slant.....when I first discovered it, I was thinking it was really just kid kinda stuff, but theres really some odd plots and way out bizarre settings....(one character, Ida, has a moon orbiting around her head....that has an Ida on it as well, with a moon orbiting her, and so on...).....and usually a bit of romance, or general naughtiness, as well....
Thanks a lot for this hint, King of Rhye, I'll give it a shot. Have you ever read something by Terry Pratchett? His way of writing always cracks me up. Especially The Book Of Nomes but also his Disc World books. What a great sense of humor...
Cant say Ive read those but I've think I've seen them.....I just tend to stick to the few authors I really like lately....(Anthony, Weis + Hickman, etc..)
