thanks for the tip! I am checking em out now....Jason Mraz doing GOFLB......not bad! He actually kinda sounds like Freddie.....a more womanly-sounding Freddie, if that makes any sense...
I rather like the clip of Stone Cold Crazy as well....hmm......the site seems to indicate that they are all full versions, but they are not....oh well...
Tie Your Mother Down is good too. but I still like Lemmy's (from Motorhead) version better :)
For some reason, I get a big kick out of tribute albums.....there was a tribute to Jimi Hendrix entitled Stone Free that came out about 10 years ago that I really loved....Belly doing Are You Experienced and Buddy Guy doing Red House.....awesome! But the Cure doing Purple Haze....ugh!
It sounds good! Good Old Fashioned Boy even does justice to the original, which most tributes definitely don't! I'm so glad they finally got known artists for an album like this, too.
Just a thought to float out there.......I'd love to hear Rush do a Queen tune, especially something from Queen's early years.....I think they could pull it off well........maybe Ogre Battle?
But then again, I dont think the members of Rush have ever expressed any big interest in Queen...
Well, more known than the last tribute album. That one appealed to mostly just Queen fans, but most of these artists on this one are pretty popular today, even if it is with a younger audience. I think it would've been interesting to have artists like David Bowie, Elton John or Robert Plant who inspired Queen and respected them paying tribute, like someone else has mentioned before. But so far I like these samples; I never would've pictured Joss Stone doing Under Pressure but it turned out pretty well. Sleeping On The Sidewalk didn't sound so great, though.

all in wonderful 22kbps quality :)
Good they make sure we want to buy the album :))))
I particularly like Under Pressure. Who Wants To Live Forever sounds good too.
Actually, I like most of them. When is the album released?

Well usually when they say "enhanced" it means there's extra content on the CD, I assume there isn't any?
