In the music video of "Innuendo," does anyone know if there is any new footage of the band playing?
Deaky's some demented art piece.
Brian keeps seeming to play the same darn chord.
And Freddie shifts from Invisible Man to Wembley to Breakthru.
no, its no footage, all the footage is previous stuff. i doubt you seen anything new, if you hadnt recognized you just havent seen all the videos. sorry to sound like an ass but i'm in a pissy mood, i think i'm on my period i really am sorry.
anyway a tidbit about the innuendo video, they were filming headlong at the same time so thats why there was no new video for it because they filmed the headlong video for the usa single and innuendo was made for the british single, i can only guess that the band couldnt do double duty with freddie's health and headlong would be simpler to incorporate live footage of the band performing.
If you look closely you should find some new parts. There are some small parts that are new.
-edit-
If you look closely, you will see when he says "tread the fine line" the first time in the beginning, Freddie says it word for word. The same is for the part where he says "we feel bound to ask". That may just be fancy editing but it really looked new. I didn't see anything new for the rest of the band members.
some of the band footage is from the Live at Wembley '86 gig.
But each member was in a different painter's style: Da Vinci (Brian), Jackson Pollok (RMT), Picasso (John), Freddie... euh...

I don't think he does. Maybe it just seems like it. Like in TSMGO vid, it has the start of the IWIA video where they say "I Want It All" and that does appear like they are saying "The Show Must Go On".
For what i've read they didn't use any new footage. And it appears that the man that was directing the video knew Freddie since his school days in ZAmzibar. And by coincidence, when he was editing the video using all those defferent shots, he realise that Freddie Mercury could be his long lost friend Farroukh Bulsara.
I'm too lazy to go chek it out where i read this information, but probably there's more people at this board that read it.
Take care
the video would have been even better if they had the animation captions of freddie back in the seventies, to see every stage of freddie during his career. But saying that, the video is an absolute classic.

Yes, there are such people. Like me. It's Jerry Hibbert - animation director, he knew Freddie since Ealing College, not from Zanzibar, they were college classmates. They've met for the first time in 1967-1968, Jerry came to London from Oxford and joined Ealing College after the first course.
Jerry wanted to met with Freddie when he was working on video for Innuendo, but it never happened, he only have talked with Jim Beach about Fred and Jim told him that Freddie is okay, don't belive rumours.
