Hi! One question: If there´s anyone who´s got that song, why is it so hard to share? We all want to listen to the unreleased stuff before we die..... (a 7% chance, I guess) Is the problem that the song is NOT released in any way?? Is it stolen from the studio?? How did all the well known demos come to the light of day?? |
Pim Derks 14.07.2005 15:43 |
Who cares about Face It Alone, when an undiscoverd gem called Two Worlds Apart is almost finished, but still unreleased.... |
Jjeroen 14.07.2005 15:55 |
Pimmie! Long time no see ;-) Indeed Two Worlds Apart is superb! Probably the greatest of all unreleased tracks. Who do you think does the acoustic guitar? It's not Brian, right?! |
jackie 14.07.2005 16:15 |
Is anybody able to give a seroius answer??? Without cynical comments. There are not only people hero who know every song that´s been played at a convention, Radio Eriwan or even on Mars! I guess the best unreleased sond is the cover version of Oei Oei Oei??? |
bohemian 11513 14.07.2005 17:37 |
Once heard this song is much too boring! So whoever has it, please don´t waste your time and energy on uploading such a crap... it won´t be appreciated... no way!!! :-) |

"Pimmie! Long time no see ;-) Indeed Two Worlds Apart is superb! Probably the greatest of all unreleased tracks. Who do you think does the acoustic guitar? It's not Brian, right?!" Sounds to me you have the 1989 demo, Freddie playes acoustic guitar there. It's a Martin, and it sounds a bit sloppy Brian does plays it on the 1991 and 1994 versions |
FriedChicken 14.07.2005 19:27 |
Ok if you really want to have a serious answer. I have it, and i won't upload it. And you can only get it from me if you have a serious offer. And no, the song isn't that good |
Pim Derks 14.07.2005 20:13 |
Indeed, it's a bit boring. I haven't got it, but Niek played me a part when we went to Paris to see QPR in March. |

It appears that some of the elite traders are content to resume their rotten behavior of years past. I am not looking forward to the continuation of the usual bullshit from Pim and Fried. |
djaef 15.07.2005 23:27 |
they couldn't be elitist bastards if they shared everything could they ;) |
Saint Jiub 16.07.2005 00:15 |
The term elitist trader originated several years ago before the advent of the Queen Hub and bittorrents. Someone named Monkberry had the sheer audacity to share two Michael Jackson / Freddie songs, as well as the 12 minute version of Stealin'. Of course a few elite traders were pissed, and did an extensive investigation to unmask him and blacklist him from trading circles. The original blacklisters have since chosen a classier path on Queenzone, but it seems that Pim and Fried are intent on reviving the Elitist label. Alex - Is that a good enough explanation for the term elitist trader? |

I really don't care if someone else would upload it, and i wasn't angry when Monkberry did it. But aslong as this is good trading material I will not upload it. You can call me anything you want, i really don't care |

I don't uderstand something :( ... This song is long 10 minutes, is more instrumental track and it's boring but no one want to share this because is too rare (people recording that song on a Queen Convention in Holland), right? So, the complete Golders Green is more rare than that? If yes, why someone upload the concert but no one upload this demo? Sorry for my english but I wait an answer! Another thing.... if I have Two Words Apart, and I share, you kicked me out Queenzone? Thanks again! |

Another thing.... if I have Two Words Apart, and I share, you kicked me out Queenzone? Thanks again!Don't worry Ale_Pisa, it's not something that is logical. It's just the way people who have rarities act. Selfishly. In a way, I understand completely. They use the rarities to trade for other rarities. That's why even though Golders Green complete has just been shared, it was in mp3. Those that have it in flac use it for trading purposes. That's just the way trading works. BUT. And that's a big but :) This song may be quite rare, but it is hardly worth holding on to for trading, when a) the quality is likely to be rather low (if it was recorded at a convention) and b) it is boring :) This is precisely the sort of thing those holding rarities should release to the public. By all means keep the Houston video and the rare boots, but stuff like this is hardly important. And finally, no. If you upload Two Worlds Apart, you will not get banned or kicked off or whatever. Richard owns this site, and he encourages people to share Queen stuff. He is not a rarities hoarder, and even if he was, I can't see how anyone could get kicked off for sharing. It would be ridiculous. So if you have it, share it I say. Boring or not. Let everyone judge for themselves. |

Maybe I just dont know what the bloody freakin heck I am talking about here......but....if (and its a big if, because I have never been in such a situation)......if I had had something.....like a ultra rare Queen demo or bootleg, that I had looked for for years........uh, I'd just go ahead and share it......seriously. That kind of attitude (I've looked for this for years, so you cant have it) I just dont get.... Well, I guess I am not an 'elitist trader', sorry... |
deleted user 17.07.2005 14:05 |
I've got some rarities which I have choosed to share here on QZ, but some of the rarities has I choosen not to share here because the one I've got it from said I'm not allowed and I respect that and some because it is nice to have in other trades and some of the rarities I got in return I'm maybe gonna share here, and I think and hope other traders act like that aswell. |
Rick 17.07.2005 14:21 |
Oh, not this crap again. Niek is right, Tatter is right and so is Jeroen. I'm also nog going to share my demo of John Deacon's 22 minutes Prophet's Song improvisation. Those people worked their asses off to get such rare things. If you want rare stuff, you must work for it, otherwise forget it! Some people, like me, want to trade. If everything is shared, why does the word 'trading' exists then? Trading is fun, let's keep it that way. |
Serry... 17.07.2005 14:45 |
If you like trading - then do it, but what's the reason to shout on every street "I have this, I have that, but I won't share it!"?! If I have something what I wouldn't make available to download - I'm not teasing everyone around about it! (Please note that I've heard Face It Alone a couple of times, my friend has this, so don't think I need it) |
Rick 17.07.2005 14:53 |
Actually, I joked about the John Deacon demo. But it's the principe of trading. I know many people brag about their rare stuff, just let them. |
Ale_Pisa 17.07.2005 19:06 |
Dear Rick, I think you're right! This is the spirit of trading, rare for rare, good for good ecc. If you have a rarities ok, you can share or you can trade as you want but Serry said great words! Someone here requested a demo called Face It Alone, so I think it's more simple to say NOTHING than I've but I don't share! Some people here believe that this demo is rare but... they're wrong! It's not rare, is too long and too "boring" and it's recording from a convention, if I remember well the audio of this demo is not good at all. Song like Self Made Man are rare? I think it's rare like Face It Alone, like Robbery and like My Secret Fantasy! I know people that BUY this demo some time ago and know someone share this in this site! Now I see some rare stuff in the ANNOUNCE section, and people share for... nothing! I think that we can't speak about what's is rare and what's is not because here are people like Serry, Martin, YV and few other who know that difference, but there's people, many other, that don't know what is OFFICIAL! Sorry for my english, I try to explain what I've in my mind, don't kill me! :) Last thing, why don't create a wishlist full of rarities for share with other rarities? This last words It's not good... :) |
djaef 18.07.2005 01:52 |
<font color=green>Rick wrote: I'm also not going to share my demo of John Deacon's 22 minutes Prophet's Song improvisation.Oh go on.... Deaky going off!! That'd be cool :)))) But seriously Rick, you do have a point. I agree. Trading is fun - the chase is fun. Getting it all for free would be boring. The only stick in the mud are the braggers. They should either put up or shut up I think. As for this particular song, I don't think it sounds like it's worth keping rare. I've never heard it, but from what I've read, I'm hardly going to chase it now... |

I can't believe we still have discussions like this one after all these years :-) Time to grow up, my friends! Don't be jealous. The people who have this demo (if anybody actually has it) must have got it somewhere. Just follow their path and you will get it too. No need to beg in public forums. Amount of unreleased stuff you get from 90% depends on how much effort you invest. If Niek invested half a year of his time to get it, fine, he deserves the song :) I don't have this song because I simply haven't even tried to get it. And I'm pretty sure I could get it if I wanted. But I'm simply not interested. How many times have you listened to the 12 min. version of Stealin'? I did probably twice. 90% of you don't want the song because it would be a great masterpiece. You only want it "to have it". |

Yes, think Mr Scully and Rick make a good point here. I myself have gigabytes of stuff I haven't even seen or heard more than once, (if completely at all). It's all too easy getting caught up in the collecting for collectings sake. I try to keep a balance. Some things I am simply not interested in. Brian's solo demos for example. Rare Queen demos though, that's another story :) |
john bodega 18.07.2005 11:22 |
I really don't see the fuss. It's not your song anyway. They only want to hoard rare things because it gives 'em power. If all of a sudden everybody had an mp3 of "Face it Alone", they wouldn't be able to hold it over your head. It's like the nights where my sister asks me to do the dishes (in return, she'll cook). If I've already fed myself, there's no reason for me to do the dishes (I do 'em anyway because I get so bored). I really don't see any point in this debate, it's just another mp3 like the 100's of other that have been shared here. And if it's so boring, then bloody put it up so people can judge for themselves. I don't think it's worth hoarding from other people just because it 'took you ages to find'. Took me ages to do a simple re-edit of I Want It All, but I shared it anyway? Aaaaaaaaanyway... what key is it in anyway? |
john bodega 18.07.2005 11:32 |
And another thing, this whole "Two Worlds Apart" thing. That's a joke song isn't it? (you know - the kind that gets released on Octember 32nd, like John Deacon's solo album...) |
Mr. Scully 18.07.2005 11:42 |
Zebonka12 wrote: I really don't see the fuss. It's not your song anyway.Although we have different opinion, this is actually right. It is NOT our song. In fact we're supposed NOT to have it! If anybody has it, it's a mistake/theft/leak from the archives. Ethically, this shouldn't be spread at all. They only want to hoard rare things because it gives 'em power. If all of a sudden everybody had an mp3 of "Face it Alone", they wouldn't be able to hold it over your head.Oh really? :-) Do you think we use rare stuff to boost our egos? Maybe some people do. john bodega 18.07.2005 12:04 |
Well... ... ... ok, there's absolutely no reason anybody who has this mp3 (or any other) to share it. Unless offered something in return. HOWEVER - there's absolutely no reason for them to hang on to it either. It is immaterial that it's an illegal thing to have (because they have it already) so why not throw it around more? You are right in saying that most people probably don't 'hold it over our heads' to gain power of some sort, but it really can feel that way. I'm not interested in trading at all, because I'm just a fan of Queen. I don't wake up in the morning and say 'oh I know, I'll throw away money I SHOULD be spending on food to listen to a low quality 10 minute mp3 that everyone says is boring'. And I'm not even that desperate to hear it - but when someone says to me 'hey this is good' or 'hey this sucks', I generally want to form my own opinion on it without having to have some rare Queen item of my own to share in the first place. I'm not Greg Brooks, I don't have John Deacon singing "Somebody to Love" - does that somehow mean I'm not fit to hear a cruddy mp3 of an unfinished song from 1990? |
Mr. Scully 18.07.2005 12:11 |
"there's absolutely no reason for them to hang on to it either. It is immaterial that it's an illegal thing to have (because they have it already) so why not throw it around more?" Well there is one reason - to trade it for other rarities :-) It's a never-ending circle... you must have track A to get track B and track B to get track C. This will never end. If somebody shares it, it's OK. As long as he doesn't have to break a promise or steal the track or something like that. Theoretically, I should be on your side - as I myself am curious to hear this track - but I can see the background so I understand both sides. |
john bodega 18.07.2005 12:16 |
Heh it's kind of antithetical to hold onto this as something worth trading. Everyone who's heard it in this thread calls it 'boring'. If it's so 'boring', then they're shooting themselves in the foot when it comes time to trade stuff, no? They SHOULD be shouting 'this is the next Bohemian Rhapsody, it's fifteen minutes long, there's a vocal overdub section with 255 voices in it, John Deacon has a bass oddysey towards the end followed by an intimate jazz session with Freddie singing away his feelings about AIDS'. Now that would get people trading for it. But if people who want to hold onto it describe it as a 'boring instrumental', then they're setting up a double standard, kind of like this: This mp3 sucks. It's bad. But - I want to hold onto it so I can swap for something heaps better. I just don't get it. Someone upload the damn thing to prevent people being duped! :P |

"Everyone who's heard it in this thread calls it 'boring'" And how many of them (1.) have it, how many of them (2.) have heard it on the Convention and (3.) how many of them are only joking? C'mon... :-) 90% of people here are in the third group and at least 9% in the second group :-) And when it comes to trading, people usually don't care about the quality of song. They care about how rare the song is - for 90% of traders AND non-traders this is most important :-) The 2-min. silent Buffalo 1978 video is a nice example :-) |
john bodega 18.07.2005 12:26 |
Heheh, actually I was referring to the one or two that both have it and have heard it. That is, if no one uploads it? |

Maybe when they are 60 years old they'll offer a a copy of the Houston video in exchange for 'adopting' a grandchild :-) |

Hey - I have an idea for those of you who have this thing. Can't you just, I dunno, take the most boring thirty seconds from the middle or something, and upload that? Heck - make it lower quality if you must preserve your high ground. Seriously, a sample would shut *me* up (don't know about everyone else). I mean - if it's a boring instrumental, then thirty seconds would say it all (me sitting on my keyboard roughly in D would sum up Track 13, for instance. For the record, I love Track 13). I can see I'm getting through to you, your stifled grins and crumbling composure are giving way to the golden sunshine of generosity and love. Let me finish with an old saying I learned on the slopes of the Chagori: "A man who counts his sheep falls to sleep. A man who gives out lamb feeds his brother man". Don't worry about the loose nature of the verse, it is a very rough translation from the local tongue. |

My 'reply' as it was, was because I'm totally bewildered why we are even having this conversation in the first place. What is this argument about? It seems like a Monty Python episode. And you call me inarticulate? My goodness. Look at nevets' second attempt at coherence.djaef wrote: but to the plebs of Queen trading, it remains rareHonestly where do some of you fannies get off? I was not talking about any poor quality t(r)ack as he put it. I was talking about Golders Green Complete. If he'd actually read the thread, he would have realised that. 'Plebs' in the context of my post are the masses, not the hard core traders, just the regular general population. I'm only just realising now, that nevets has totally misunderstood the thread. He basically can't read. His comments above obviously relate to the song that this up til now rather amusing thread has been banging on about - yes Face It Alone, that's the one. (And for the record, no I don't have it) Instead I was talking about another concert altogether. So who is inarticulate now? Reading is a core prerequisite for comprehension, and if you don't understand what people are talking about you can hardly achieve any level of articulateness. So nevets, apologise forthwith. You don't know what you are talking about. Newcastle86, likewise. Learn to read before you spout off about whatever you think you are spouting off about... Can we get Zabonka back here to inject a little humour and get this begging thread back on topic? :) |

Medicine is for the ill, not the brilliant! (note - 'ill' can be found in 'brilliant', oh well). I guess I'll have to "Face it Alone" and not hear the song, and wind up slumming it with "My Secret Fantasy" and "I Guess We're Faling Out". |

Suigi 14.11.2005 20:22 |
OK, the problem is, most of us don't have these rarities TO share, and in order to get them, we'd need to give something we found here to someone who isn't a QZer... It's just so horribly confusing. For example, here are the demos I think I've snagged off of QZ (I mighta stumbled upon some stuff here!). Silver Salmon (just posted a few hours ago) Feelings, Feelings (soundboard quality!) State Of Shock (soundboard) Feel Like (Very Good) Dog With A Bone (Very Good) A New Life Is Born (soundboard) I Guess We're Falling Out (Very Good) A Fiddly Jam (Average) Stealin' Session (same as posted a while ago) My Secret Fantasy (soundboard) Robbery (soundboard) Self-Made Man (soundboard) Keep Passing The Open Windows (good) I can't really hold my head up high among other QZers, b/c at least 75% of the board has snagg'd these tracks as well. Of course, I do remember some kinda torrent file a while ago that had some other demos... |
The Real Wizard 15.11.2005 00:04 |
Suigi, Once a song has been shared publically, you probably won't be able to trade it, as nearly everyone will soon have it. If you want to be ahead of the game, you need to track down rare songs *before* they are shared. Remember, not everything that circulates will be shared here. |
john bodega 15.11.2005 09:02 |
