Hiya,
Would any one suggest in my case that
. Aren't the Dillion Trisonics any useful at all at getting a reasonable Queen sound?
. Coz i really can't be bothered getting the Burns ones, coz i can't find them anywhere
c'mon guys they must be useful
JOHNNY - I have posted to you three separate times in regards to your Dillion guitar.
First, I HAVE A DILLION AND HAVE MENTIONED THAT IT IS NEARLY USELESS AT ACHIEVING THE BRIAN MAY SOUND. I also have a Burns, and it is also virtually unless in achieving Brian's sound unless you have the right equipment to go with it (Vox, treble, etc.) it's also damn near impossible. The Dillion must be used in conjunction with a treble booster, a Vox amp or an amp with digital effects which replicate a Vox sound and ideally you should replace the Dillion brand Tri-Sonic pickups with Burns brand pickups.
The Dillion is a good practice guitar. It's fun to play around with. Brian's sound, on the other hand, doesn't come from that guitar no matter what you do with it. I've tweaked mine for better sustain, tremelo and treble, but even now I have a hard time getting it to sound just right. If you want to duplicate the Brian May sound, invest in a Burns and put down the goddamned Dillion.
I've also mentioned to you that a Washburn W-I64 guitar is a great, versatile guitar which easily duplicates Brian's sound when combined with a Roland amp with digital effects. Digital effects allow you to skip buying extra pedals and effects by having the effects built right into the amp - and you'd never know the difference. Sounds true to form.
Johnny... by the way, ever noticed there´s a difference between a Dillion and a dildo? How´s your brother? Are you still playing with him?
Remember... it can be so much more fun playing in the bathtube! :-)
Englishyob: I've heard that Brain May (the evil twin) plays a guitar called the Black Special, which was made with his father out of hellfire and brimstone.
