I'd prefer it if he would either: A. grow up, and develop a sense of community and drop his unexplainable arrogance. B. leave on his own accord (boredom from not being entertained in irritating us) or C. stick his head in his mum's toilet, as that is where all the crap that comes out of his head truely belongs. |

Queen wannabeism??? Oh please, just because he has a half micstand??? Which he by the way uses in his own way, not like Freddie did. He changed WWRY to his style...that's it Sick of u guys(especially u Arlene) not giving the guy the credit he should get. Yeh u like "Angels" now, big whoop. He doesn't sing like Freddie, dance like Freddie or wear Freddie's clothes. Get a life. |

He doesn't sing like Freddie, dance like Freddie or wear Freddie's clothes. Get a life. His wannabeism comes from constantly covering Queen songs and droning on about how upset he is that he was not chosen for the Queen tour, but Paul Rodgers was. That's life. Brian and Roger make their decsions on other factors besides talent. Like marketability in a global audience who know who Paul Rogers is, etc. It seems like evry high profile gig Robbie does, he has to cover a Queen tune...and that he feels as if he has to top Freddie or is in Freddie's shadow in the eyes of the world as the all time consummate live performer. As I said before, he should stick to being his own man, his own artist and maybe the world outside the UK would be more open to him, especially here in the USA, which I have read he is adamant about doing well in, but so far has yet to successfully crack. |
The Fairy King 14.07.2005 17:44 |
"constantly covering Queensongs???" WWRY as hommage during some shows in 2003 and Live8(everybody loved it, except wankers like u), WATC with Bri and Rog, for a movie and else? Constantly? i don't think so. And i think him wanting to tour with Queen, is that Bri and Rog were enthousiastic about him, and said he could do it, but then turned to Rodgers. That's why he reacted in the press, and not in a disrespectful way. The guy was disappointed and i can't blame him!I know Robbie would be great and i know Paul is great. But don't bash him, because he did some Queen songs. It's really standard here on this board, if someone touches a Queen song it's always bad, or it is good but with some critical points here and there. When the songs is done unQueen (oh sorry don't like it, it's not Queen, their own style?? nah) or when the song is done with Queen in mind (their totally ruining the song, Queen/Freddie wannabe etc etc). Learn to think for yourself, and try to think about in what position the artist is in. |

I thought he SUCKED doing WWRY... who the HELL IS JOHNNY.. and WHY is he wiping his banner all over the place, and why did he sing the SAME freaking thing twice.. hmmm.... I will have to admit, I didn't give it a chance to finish before I deleted it from my computer so I have NO idea how the REST of his set was. but his cover of Queen was horrible... and I am no longer a Queen Fan.. |

What I like about Paul Rodgers is that he's putting on Freddie Mercury's shoes but he is still Paul Rodgers. Now that's what makes a TRUE performer. Originality. |
Erin 15.07.2005 10:20 |
Yeah.. Should Paul Rodgers have to change the way he acts on stage to try and match Freddie's showmanship? That's stupid. Paul is one of the best rock n roll singers around, not some arrogant, performing monkey like Robbie Williams. (sorry to the Robbie fans..but I just can't stand the guy) |
