i finally got this album (although it cost $15.99, i thought it was worth it)
just curious who else loves this album, and a few of your favorite songs from it
mine:
Need Your Loving Tonight
Rock It
Don't Try Suicide
Sail Away Sweet Sister (one of the top 5 queen songs IMO)
Coming Soon
Well, I bought this album the year it was released (I'm old). I was in high school, and I was just starting to teach myself the guitar. The first night that I picked up the guitar for the very first time, I had the sheet music for 'The Game' album (yes deary - ON VINYL), and the very first song that I taught myself on my little piece of crap acoustic guitar was 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' - so for this reason, that is my favorite song from 'The Game.'
Ah memories...
This was the first album that really got me into Queen...And Don't Try Suicide was the first song I ever heard, so I still have a soft spot for it. It's a diverse album...I love Save Me, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Dragon Attack (which sounds even better live!) and Sail Away Sweet Sister especially.
Yeah, it's a great album. The 2 albums that got me into Queen were Greatest Hits (red) and Classic (blue), but the first STUDIO album that I heard from the band was The Game. I found a vinyl of the album on a second-hand CDs&Vynils store and it was the first studio one i've heard.
There's nothing better than jamming and jumping on your bed and shaking your ass while listening to Brian's guitar solo in Crazy Little Thing Called Love from The Game vinyl album....:) Don't you think ?

Same here. The biggest memory I have of this albume was that it was soooo different to all their earlier stuff. I still enjoyed it thouhgh, and thought "Rock It - Prime Jive" was a great first song.
I love Save Me, Play The Game, Dragon Atack and Sail Away Sweet Sister but the rest isn't great. Rock It and Coming Soon are Roger Taylor's worst songs (even Action This Day and Drowse are better)and Don't try Suicide is awful. I don't mind diversity but there is no hard rock here at all, and I think it set Queen down a bad road in the eighties (for a start it made them retain Mack with his horrid drum sound, and second it encouraged them to do more and more disco because of Another One Bites The Dust, which is actually a good song.) Everyone has different tastes though, that's why we have these discussions, and the four I do like are certainly up there in my top 30 of all their career.
I remeber i bought this albume.I saved some money so i was happy when i finally could have it in my collection.I think its lots of good songs here.Play the game,Dragon attack,Need your loving tonight,Rock it and of chourse save me witch is one of my favs.the albume sleeve istn so great.
