Does anyone use one of these?
I'd like to check my boots for source quality. I've looked on google but it all seems a little complicated. I just want to confirm that my flac files and cds are indeed sourced from wave files and not mp3.
If anyone could provide a link or a name, I'd appreciate it.
Here is some info about how to check files for mp3 sources and there are some links as well:link
I'm using this spectrum analyzer myself, it's called AnalFreq. Actually it's very easy to detect mp3 sources with such a program. If you have CEP or Adobe Audition you could use them as well for checking for mp3 sources.

Thanks for that. I downloaded that AnalFreq but how exactly does it work?
When it opens, I click on file and choose a wave file to analyse and it gives me a clear analysis. But then if I click cancel to stop it, and then click start again, the analysis is different. What is it analysing the second time? Do I trust the first result?
The first analysis that is displayed is the actual spectral analysis of the file where you can see if the file is mp3 sourced or not. Don't click "start", just click "stop" if the analyisis has been done and "file" again if you want to analyze another wav file. When clicking "start" the program will perform an action that doesn´t have anything to do with the purpose of only creating a spectral view of the file. Again, the first analysis that is displayed after selecting the file is the actual spectral view you need and this can be trusted.
I've been using EAC lately, and have detected some mp3 sourched material lately. There are som cases i'm not sure about. The screenshot i've attached is from the same bootleg, but different songs and fft. I think it's mp3 sourched, but the one i got it from claims it's not...
