Ok, I know theres been all these discussions on which is the best bootleg of queen concerts and all that, but I would liek to know: Which is THE BEST live concert Queen ever played?? Just one, dont give two or three that are tied, simply just one.
As lots of fans, I always think that it's so difficult to decide the best live concert. If I dare to choose one, Hammersmith'79 would be the best from various viewpoints. Personally, there are some or more concerts I think to be tied with Hammy'79 in some ways or nearly the best among the ones I've known, though. And imho, every Queen live makes me feel that the more I listen to it the more I want to listen to it.
I much preferred Hammy Odeon 1975. Why? Because as a live spectacle they had to rely more of the music and less of the lights. And the set list was more to my liking, me being an old skool Queen fan. Thats my twopence worth.
What is the criteria?
Freddie's vocal range? His stage presence and ability to communicate? Brian's confidence? Audience interaction? The overall vibe? The number of people to create such a vibe?
This kind of question is completely relative. One could say Rio 85 because the number of people, Hammersmith 79 because of Freddie's range (although he was less cracky in Glasgow in Newcastle earlier in the month), Houston 77 because of its demand, Montreal 78 because of its audience, Budapest 86 because it was groundbreaking, Wembley 86 because it's so represented, or Auckland 85 because Freddie was piss drunk and surely put in a unique performance as a result.
The answer: you can't pick one or two.
Warsaw '82. That was the best fucking show ever. It's in the archives, but Brian's been a bitch and does not want to realease it. Surprise. Bootleg is fantastic, even though the quality of the recording is not even near that of a soundboard. It's a must have, let me tell you.
maybe its not the best concert Queen ever played, but my favorite bootleg (if theres a difference)....
4-4-76 Tokyo.............
with the Hammersmith Odeon 79 one not far behind...
or hell. how about the good ol Milton Keynes 82 show? They should put that one out on DVD or something, I tell ya......:)
All the 70, 71, 72 concert! :)
Marqueen 1972, Truro 1971, Truto 1970 and all the concert who have Stone Cold Crazy (Slow Version) in the setlist!!!! :)
Magic tour
Knebowroth- Best AOBTD, Brian is on fire, Radio Ga Ga is great.
Mannhiem-Bo rhap is one of the better sounding in Magic tour, and the band is in Key and had a good time.
Vienna(both nights)- just for really great sounding Bootlegs, around average performance's.
Lieden- not such great sound, but great crowds and the band was having fun, full version of Friends will be friends.
Here is a odd one.Cinncinnati ohio 1982 during hot space tour. They had been in Detroit previous night i think and i expected a letdown show. Not!!the crowd stayed on its feet the entire time from Hero to WATC.Freddie asked crowd if the ever sit down>Great audio too.I have poloroids(lol)from show if anyone would like scans email me

Montreal '81
but the audience was crap so maybe
Glasgow '77
Tokyo 11-5-1985 is a great shows. I think majority of Japan shows are worth having. It seems Queen is enjoying themselves in Japan a lot; they're more relaxed, synchronized and the audience is always great. Just listen to the crowd singing along to WATC on any Japan bootleg. It's magnificent, it's like a fifth Queen memeber.
