Travelling from Nottingham alone seems daunting enough for my first live concert, but does anyone know what time the concert will finish approximately?? I am going down to St. Pancras Station and then going on the tube to Hyde Park corner. Is there anyone in the same situation who i could meet, or at least go back to st pancras with when the concert ends??
Hm, the last train (direct one) to Nottingham leaves London at 23:15 meaning you have 1 hour to get out of the crowd (while everyone making that crowd will try the same - perhaps not the same station as you). I'm not saying this is not possible, but it would be much better if you could stay in London until next morning. Especially if you will be there on your own or without someone who is chasing same goal as you. Do you have anyone in London where you can sleep on sofa in case that you miss the train?
On link you can find current and long term information about London underground. So far I do not see they will close any station at the time of the concert, but this something to expect. To underground station to chase with direct connections to King's Cross are Hyde Park Corner (Piccadilly line), Green Park (Piccadilly and Victoria lines). Alternative would be Marble Arch (Central line) to Ofxord Circus (Victoria) or TCR (Northern line). Usually it would not be a problem to catch these trains, but time required to leave Hyde Park and queues that will form after in underground stations are problem.
I will be travelling down and back via Kings Cross ie next door to St Pancras. My train back is 23.30. I am travelling on my own. Let me know if you want to meet - for gig as well. Perhaps meet with the others on the Forum given time. I have got a GC ticket.
I was there last Thursday for Kasabian and got on a 11.03 train to St Albans with the concert ending around half ten. Get out prompt know where you are going and it will be fine.
Hyde Park Corner will be open but they will shut it at periods to ease congestion.
Yes. I'm not too concerned that it is possible to do. Could walk to a station such as Green Park on the Piccadilly Line. Just need to get a move on.
I saw Kasabian last year they were support band for the Who at NIA. I rate them and they seem to be getting better and better. The guitar playing vocalist is getting more into the spotlight.
