Hi folks, let's meet very close to the stadion in a restaurant/biergarten called Stadtwaldgarten. We can sit inside or outside depending on the weather and we can get food if we want. The Stadtwaldgarten is only 100 m away from the main entrance of the Rhein Energie Stadion in the Aachener Strasse 701. The tram station "Alter Militärring" is right across the street. This tram station is also the closest to the stadion, so if you come with the train, take the line 1 towards 'Weiden' and exit station 'Alter Militärring'. You'll be right in front of the restaurant. Arriving with the car it's strongly recommended to come via Autobahnkreuz West exit B55 and follow the B55 for about 4 km, it's the Aachener Strasse. See the map link The pentagon marks the restaurant, the Queen crest the stadion. Thanks a lot to Frank39 who lives in Cologne and did the scouting and provided the map, he will come, too. edit: trying to unstick this |

Where did you found the map? Could you kindly post the link to it? 'cause I'd need a bigger one, with my hostel and the train station at least... |
Jjeroen 30.06.2005 08:47 |
Great! See you all there. (I'll bring all the 'stuff', Barbara ;-) What time? We actually wanted to be at the stadium realy early (like 14.00 - 15.00'ish), to make sure we get inside the "golden circle"... |
Fenderek 30.06.2005 09:08 |
Have fun guys!!! |

it's this map link but you can also use multimap.com and map24.de I don't think you need to queue that early, Jeroen, we won't be there earlier than 3:00 PM. Only if you HAVE to be in 1st row you must queue before 5:00 PM. It's a big brandnew stadium with numerous gates, I think it's more about running fast than about queuing early. |

Oh guys, if you were in Italy you'd find people out of the gates fron very very early morning... and it's always a big fight :) PS: thanks for the map! |

I'm just thinking how things would go in Holland (and how they WILL go next Sunday in Arnhem): at a certain time a group of people will be let inside a secured area of the queue, they all get an armwrist to get in the golden cirkel. If the gates of the secured area have closed again(at the time there are as much people as they will let inside the golden circle), there is no chance you will ever get in there... My experience with these kind of shows is that the secured area opens round 14.00 - 15.00 hours... People in there will be let inside the venue first, after which the golden circle closes and the other people are let in... :-S I dunno, do you think Germany will be different? I don't need to be all the way up front, (Au contraire - you understand why ;-) but the golden circle would be nice... |

No, I am not sure. It was not like that in the old stadium but I haven't been there for a while. I'll make some phone calls tomorrow andd find out about the admission. |
Jjeroen 30.06.2005 12:45 |
Great YV! :) I was thinking about the situation in Holland (and yes, I've seen the Italians too ;-))) but I guess you are probably right. I already got the impression that Germans are not such early risers ;-) |

I'm sure I'll appear at the meeting but the problem is that I'll be there with some friends who will undoubtedly want to go to the hotel and get some autographs before the concert (and we have seating tickets this time => no queuing). So I don't know how we make it... |
Jjeroen 01.07.2005 03:44 |
What? You got seated tickets, Martin?? :-( And I was looking forward to swaying with you on WATC with the musical cast... ;-) Oh and you better make it to that meeting!! |

Jeroen, I promise I'll try to make it to the meeting but we won't arrive to Cologne before 2pm or so. It's 700 km far from here. |
YourValentine 01.07.2005 05:16 |
Don't get excited, the chances to get an autograph before the show are close to zero. The band will be escorted out of the hotel, they will be nervous as hell and the last thing they want is to sign something. While they will be rushed to the venue you will be stuck in the traffic and late for the concert. Better come to the meeting and leave the stalking to the groupies :) Don't forget this is a 50 000 people event and security will be very tight. |
Jjeroen 01.07.2005 05:25 |
Do you (or anybody) by chance know anything about metaldetectors in the new stadium? ...since it is brandnew and highttech and all... Oh and if there is a hotel in the neighbourhood of the stadium, that will possibly be the place where the boys are staying. They have done so on a lot of he shows and subsequently used an underground corridor to the venue if there is one... |
Mr. Scully 01.07.2005 06:02 |
It's not mainly about me, I can live without autographs (having waited a lot with no success during this tour), it's mainly about my two friends who will be with me. We'll see. |
Silvia_71 01.07.2005 06:33 |
To be honest, I don't care about autographs too, I have a few already and, most of all, I know they will be not in the mood of signing pieces of papers... especially Brian. I just wuold love to see them as close as possible, shake an hand and say them a huge thank you :-) |

I'll try to come to the meeting. With a "Innenraum-Stehplatz" ticket is there any chance I'll get close to the stage ? Thanks for your answer ;-) |

I will be at the meeting if I find my way... I don't think it would be that dificult as I have been to Cologne last month to arange the things there. Like the hotel. I did make a little expedition to the Stadium. So it's the first Halte before the Rhein Engery Stadium when you take the tram direction from center to Rhein Energy. About autographs I do not collect any queen items except of CD albums (I do have 2 t-shirts, which are not made by myself), which most I have and I prefer more to have a talk with other Queen fans than been pushed away like a few years ago (Michael Jackson Concert & I am not even fan of the man, just was accompaining some friends). They didn't hurt me,lucky me. It would be nice to talk to them to, but they probably aren't interested in people like me. And I am to scared to be enoy them. Don't want to be enoyence to anyone. |
Silvia_71 05.07.2005 09:14 |
Can someone kindly tell us some info about the coach or whatever from center Cologne to the stadium? And, at the end of the show, WHEN is the last one????? Thanks. |
YourValentine 05.07.2005 10:14 |
The tram from the main station is line 1 direction 'Weiden'. The station for the Queenzone meeting is 'Alter Mlitaerring' - You should see the stadium from there. Here is another useful map to find the Aachener Strasse (B 55)and parking space. You can click on the various parking lots and you get exact description about the walk to the stadium. link As to the wave breakers (gold circle): Queenzoner knebworth was in the stadium an hour ago and there were no wave breakers as yet- but it's possible that they install some alhough it will be very difficult because of the cat walk. He will try to get more specific information and he will send me an SMS as soon a she knows. However, the armbands for the 'inner circle' - if there should be one - will most likely be handed out in the stadium and not in the queue. |
