Getting ready to go and get my hearing "Turned" on...*sigh* last time I can use that line! not many people will be able to say that =)
so it's been over a month since the surgey, everythiong has been peacefull and quiet...well at least for me since I can't hear nothing =-)
I got it turned on...holy shit, it freaks you out when it is turned on, the setting of course is very low, I have to go back next week to get my settings changed, right now I can do 4 settings (volume areas) and im still on number 1.
They said it will take me time to learn to hear, right now it feels very static like as my nerves are not used to hearing and every ones voice sounds like Donald Duck and very artifical like.
So Far I have heard footsteps for the 1st time in years and my self typing...Also the wind when you stand still, one sound I dont like and I do not like the sound of the toliet flushing, so far I been trying everything to hear the sounds, when I click my fingers it sounds awesome, I have not heard that in such a volume in years.
Since I am the 1st person to get this procceser it took them quite some time to hook it up, so most of the time there was them trying to figure out how to work it, I knew, since it was on a laptop, even had them plug the USB port when things were going well, I figure I should have taking over that, lol
Awesome! Now you can hear your wife bitching about her friends and workmates and you'll have no excuse not to listen and sympathise! Mwahahaha!
I'm sure you'll figure out something though :-)
