To my opinion all the COLDPLAY tunes sounds the same. And I don't like them much. To me it sounds like a supermarket tune. How many more albums are we going to have in the same tune!!!! |

Theres another post along this lines, and to be honest you are talking bollocks. The Coldplay set at Glastonbury was just fantastic. |

nothing to do with roger. It just something I realy think by myself. It does not sounds good to me. and bullucks, I do not think I am talking bullucks... I am just speaking my mind... which in my taste Coldplay does not fit in. |
deleted user 28.06.2005 12:25 |
anyway I have said it before on an other board a few weeks ago in Msn... I was not the only one to dislike the band. |
flash00. 28.06.2005 12:32 |
i dont like them either! and no disrespect to them or there fans but there songs do sound the same, there very bland, but each to there own:) |
Haystacks Calhoun 28.06.2005 12:49 |
Coldplay is nothing more that a third rate U2 impersonation... All of their songs sound the same, take the new Speed of Sound, and the old Clocks.... Same chords, same style, same crappy keyboards, same whining voice. The best thing Chris Martin has ever done was knock up Gwennie....other that that, he is as useless as tits on a Nun. |
bitesthedust 28.06.2005 14:11 |
Coldplay are like U2....blah blah blah.... *yawn* If Roger doesn't like them then like everyone else that's his perogative, but I like them! |
_amadeus_ 28.06.2005 14:18 |
Ya, they do all sound the same O_o I like Coldplay though :D |

Thanks for the grammatical lesson Lisser, my reaction do stay the same. Nobody talks bollocks by expressing his minds. |
Richard Orchard 29.06.2005 05:37 |
I think that the songs on their three albums do have a similarity. But because i like it, that is fine :) More of the same is great when you like it. Wouldn't it be nice if there were three Queen albums that all sounded like Queen II. That would be awesome. I don't think it is very wise for artists to criticize each other. What does Roger have to gain by being negative? I am sure he isn't that pleased when people have a go at Queen or the new tour or whatever. |
The Fairy King 29.06.2005 08:15 |
I didn't like them...till i saw them live in 2003! They blew me away, they're great live!!! And their first 2 albums a great! The last one has some nice tracks, but sounds too much like a copy of AROBTTH. |

Roger just speaks is opinion, like every one does, everyone is authorized to do. As much as everyone else in here and on other forum boards. It would be very hypocrite not to. And anyway you've got to take it with a pinch of solt, newspapers do tent to exagerate. I remember about in the 90ties, I met Michael Hutchence(INXS)... I reconized him and asked him to sign on my jacket. He was a bit funny (dronk I thought at the time, I know better know), he wanted to give a kiss instead of landing on the cheak it landed on the mouth. Did not mean anything, I was only 14 and not interested what so ever in the guy and he looked to of the road to me. It stood in the newspaper next day, my mum and lot of people where shocked, exepted my uncle who was with me the day before. Title "Michael flirt with fan", I was not even a big fan of INXS. I got teased about it during several years and when he died, my fallow students were even worse. For them I had a fling with a drug addict. |

They are just boring... Was listening to thew Glastonbury set on the radio and wasn't impressed at all... Not my cup of tea, sorry... As someone said ina very good review of their last record in Classic Rock- it's a musical equivalent of an Ikea lamp... |

Fenderek wrote: As someone said ina very good review of their last record in Classic Rock- it's a musical equivalent of an Ikea lamp...Strange analogy.. Anyway..I agree with Fenderek. I think their songs are very similar and a bit too mellow for this rock 'n roll lovin' chic..:-) |

A friend of mine sent me this article. What do you think about it?
Daily Star wrote: Article in Daily Star, Saturday 25 June 2005 WE ARE NOT AMUSED QUEEN RAIN ON CHRIS'S PARADE AGED pomp rockers Queen have launched an extraordinary attack on Glasto headliners Coldplay. Chris Martin and company have the festival's top slot - the closing set on the Pyramid stage tonight. [Saturday] But Queen's poodle-haired guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor are far from impessed by them. Chris Martin, 28, Guy Berryman, Will Champion and Johnny Buckland, all 27, were kept off the top spot earlier this month by a cretinous green amphibian. And Roger has made the astounding comment he is more a fan of brainless novelty ring tone records than Coldplay's intelligent, anthemic, grown-up adult rock. He said of the Crazy Frog: "I actually prefer it to the Coldplay record." I know Taylor has been away from the music scene for quite a while and Queen's heyday passed some 20 years ago, but there's no need for those kind of sour grapes. Speaking to Virgin Radio Tayloe, 55, even went on to make the frankly absurd comment that all Coldplay songs sond the same. He said: "All they do just sounds too similar." Queen are in the middle of a world-wide tour. Freddie Mercury's role has been taken by former Free singer Paul Rodgers, 55. They play Hyde Park on July 8. SOFT There was good news for The Darkness though. They are in the studio with Queen producer Roy Thomas Baker and May, 57, has a soft spot for them. But old Rog really needs his brain re-wired if he thinks having a pop at Britain's best-loved band is sensible. I for one know who I'd prefer seeing tonight in a muddy field in Somerset - and it certainly isn't Queen.I've never read Daily Star before, but it must be some really shitty paper. They write all this tendentious crap and twist Roger's words just to make him look like an idiot, and Coldplay like the greatest band in the world. Is disliking Coldplay a crime?! |

Lol Fenderek - I have never liked IKEA either. Not very stylish to me. But than I am the granddaughter of a cabinetmaker so don't need to go to Ikea anyway Solded tong of the Daily mail, Brian has already said in his soapbox that he didn't said anything about Coldplay. link |
kerfuffle87 30.06.2005 14:15 |
i do think that some of the songs are quite catchy, but at the same time quite similar, and the albums just blur from one to the other, with no real development IMO. |
