For the "overseas" people at Brixton, it is already a familiar situation. Basicallyl we will have to queue in the Box office until it opens at 15:00 while the lucky UK residents take the best places in the Golden Circle area.
GRRRRRRR!!!!
I was told by Ticketmaster that my GC tickets will be waiting for me at box office since noon so you don't need to wait until 15:00. Besides, I don't care... I will collect the tickets and enjoy the show. I doubt that there will be many people there around 15:00 even for GC area.
Please tell me this ain't true.
This is certainly an interesting development. Are you sure?
When I bought my HP GC ticket via the web, the confirmation I received said they would send them to me w/in 10 days of the event, which I thought was cutting it a bit close. I think I paid additional shipping for them to send them overseas, but I'll have to check. It would have made WAAAAAAY too much sense for Ticketmaster to have their print it now feature to print the tickets at our own printers, as was available for U2 and a zillion other gigs.
From whom did you get this information? Standing in line to receive tickets paid for months ago (yeah, Ticketmaster has been collecting interest on it) could get to be a bit annoying . . . especially if we have to do so while the other 10,000 are filling the GC area. Isn't one of the great conveniences of buying tickets ON line the fact that you don't have to stand around waiting IN line? If this turns out to be true, what a cluster eff!
Last week I called (or should I say more correctly asked a question via web) Ticketmaster about my ticket. I did also pay for ticket to be spipped overseas and their web claims they do it, but then suddenly it turned out that my ticket is waiting on box office. To quote what they said to me: "I have checked your booking and your tickets are being held at the box office to be collected by the credit card holder. Please take your credit card as identification and quote your booking confirmation number."
Now, by reading this again, can you imagine person who doesn't have a credit card (those people do exists as well) and did order a tickets by asking someone else to do it and it leaves overseas. Do you see the problem?
On this forum people tend do rather open a new thread rather than check if same on the subject exists, but if you check past threads (recent!) you will see there are several on the same subject.
Ticketmaster charged us "overseas" buyers 14 British pounds for special delivery for the Brixton Academy concert and we all had to pick them up. Special, indeed. However, we did not wait in queue for ticket collection, we picked them up 1 minute after the doors opened and they let us in through another door. This way, we ended up in row 8 or 9 and we did not have to wait in queue for hours. I don't know if this is a specific Brixton Academy procedure or if this is the usual procedure in the UK.
There really exists people, who doesn't have credit card, you're not the only one "hcrvelin". I still believe they have so much humanitarian that they (Box Office workers) will understand that kind of cases.
BTW, where that God damn box office is....somewhere in Hyde Park?
There will be several gates. (at least two; one for GC tickets and one for the others). This Wed and Thu we have Wireless festival here (smaller part was over the weekend and box office was placed south-east near the lake). Over the weekend Live8 is coming so place will change a bit shape (as there will be more people on L8 than on Q+PR) and afterwards they must make place ready for Q+PR and REM.
I think you should not worry where the gates and box office will be now. Someone (me for example) can send that info a night before if really interested as my hotel is close to Hyde Park.
Oooooh!!
So, if it's true...I really don't know where I must go for get my tickets!! anybody knows where ticketmaster will have his office?? and when I will be able to get them? :S ....thank you!
i live in france and have been told by ticketmaster that my ticket is currently being sent to me :/
i suggest you call ticketmaster to see if you really need to pick your tickets at the box office.
