Here's the page stating Mary gets the motherload of everything.
He even wrote it so she would not have to pay any inheritance taxes, which usually are quite high.
I didn't see anything about his cats though...
He sure gave Jim Beach a hell of alot of power/autonomy as co-executor and co-trustee of his estate.
Strange. I have never heard of an any entertainer, making their manager (lawyer or not), also their executor and trustee.
That is usually considered a conflict of interest (which it is), and an outside estate attorney or private attorney with NO vested interest and on NO payroll from the entertainer in another employment capacity (read Manager in this case), is given those powers.
HMMMM

I think she deserved it the most, when she got most of the fortune friends and family were not too pleased and she didn't want it at first...too much I guess.
Personally, I think that people are making too big of a deal out of the fact that Freddie loved his cats. I mean, of course he loved his cats because he just loved cats in general and these cats were his own and all, but giving part of his fortune to the cats? I really doubt it! It sounds so ridiculous!
The fact that Freddie was supposed to have said that he would rather have another cat than a baby... I mean, maybe he has said that once, but I doubt that he was so serious about it as the press has made it seem.
Of course, I do not know whether Freddie did give part of his fortune to his cats or not but I really doubt it! I think he loved his cats the way that any other "cat-owner" does and that's it.
But that's just my opinion...
No way!!!It's just the fact that Freddie adored cats,so some ''clever'' guys are saying that he left part of his fortune to his cats. But it's not true I suppose, just rumours...

Er...wait a minute. How can you get out of the inheritance tax just by putting it in the will? Wouldn't everyone just do that?

I thought about that too. Maybe (if this is even legal) Freddie had the will drafted so that say he was realy leaving someone..hypothetical figure $100,000. But half of that roughly would go to inheritance taxes, so instead he was actually leaving them $200,000, with his accountant/trustees, setting half aside in advance for the taxes, with the $100,000 being what the person gets after taxes.
I don't know if that's even legal.
I do know that here in the USA, with the TV reality show ''Home Extreme Makeovers'' for poor people, where the TV producers get developers to build like a half million dollar new dream home for a poor family type thing...there has been alot of backlash in the press, about these poor people NOT being told about the taxes they would owe on these free prize homes...and when it's time to pay the taxes, they do not have the money, and alot of these families have been losing their homes.
But the TV show never tells you that.
No offence, but who cares? If he did, he did, whoop-de-do to him (and of course to the cats). Seems like a bit of a stupid thing to do - it's not as if the cats are gonna benefit much, 'cause it doesn't sound like Freddie would have spared much expense on their food and toys or stuff in the first place, they probably had salmon to stuff themselves silly with all day.
And to answer your question, Arlene R. Weiss, it sounds to easy to be legal.
(Apologies if I sound like a right rouse - I have a headache)
