GB replies to Queenonline... You can read his full reply at... link However, two points i could not really raise over there... GB: As you know, occasionally the odd private recording, such as a demo, does leak out onto the bootleg circuit... But none of the stuff we have, NONE of it, has ever leaked – just to clear that one up. Ferdy: (on kya acetate with unreleased edit) - I confirm I bought from GB... Inu-Liger: (on bbc march of the black queen) Greg Brooks has kindly sent me this following MP3 on his own free will (w/o me having even asked for it in the first place)... link GB: When... the rarities boxes emerge... it will NOT be packaged in the way that a certain individual on one of the Queen sites has suggested/guessed. We do not have details yet of how we will package it/them – we really don’t... I assure you, we DO NOT KNOW yet what packaging it will be... We don’t know, nor EMI. No-one does... Don't know if I am supposed to be the expert - or not, but regarding the A Night At The Opera 30th Anniversary Special edition, It was officially confirmed a few weeks ago in the queenonline news page - just check the news section archives! Neverthless, any news of a release is good news - but ever felt you were being shot at? |

Thanks John for the info! So, the official news is.... they're discussing it and it will be extensive. wow... that is a revelation. and not for a while yet? Reminds me of some of the features on Queenonline's site that are described as "coming soon" anyone care to hazzard a guess as to when? ... and boy - he still doesn't like you does he John? |
Maz 21.06.2005 17:41 |
Why not raise those points over on QOL, John? I think they are valid, especially when viewed in the context of the Ibex debacle, and are certainly worthy of the official archivist giving an official response. Of course, I do not envy the vemon you might bring upon yourself from GB. That message from him shows the warm feelings he has for you. Still, replying over here on QZ seems more like running away from conflict than trying to get at the heart of the issue. |

Zeni: The thing is I (honestly) have no axe to grind with greg. I hold no grudges against him, nor (because I do not know him) can I dislike him as a person. Ofcourse, I can not vouch for how he feels about me, but life is too short to worry about that sort of thing. It may be Greg must work within the restrictions of QP - while I do not - also, Greg is in a unique position to add some real weight to any discussion - and ofcourse I respect him for that. I concede that he is in a position to know far more than I do - so somtimes all I can add is second-hand info, which is really no substitute for his first hand experience, (but even that second-hand news - is the best otherwise available). But i have no idea where this idea of animosity comes from - as we both have a reputation of straight talking - and saying things as they are, and if it appears that I am running away from a conflict over on Queenonline, it is because I have no intention in getting involved in any fights or dirty tricks. To be frank, it is not worth it, as all it does is sap my postive energy, and i can't be bothered with all the hassle. Anyway, the world IS big enough for the both of us - so if I keep quiet, perhaps he will too. |

Can't believe I still feel bad for posting that MP3 of MOTBQ even though Greg didn't explicitly say if I could share it or not. Sorry, had to get that off my chest. |
Maz 21.06.2005 19:43 |
I see your point, John, and I can fully understand not wanting the hassle of an argument that won't solve much. It's easy for me to tell you to fight back when I don't have to do anything. As an innocent bystander, it just bothers me that GB would reply with such venom rather than with any substance. He seems more interested in insults than with providing fans with insight. It's frustrating for fans when the official archivist acts this way. |

It's frustrating for fans when the official archivist acts this way.Just because he's the official archivist, doesn't mean that the powers that be, that is QPL, don't tell him to wag the dog a bit...meaning spin job, say what they tell him to say, fact or fiction, and to come down on John or anyone else that detours away from what QPL want officially said or known...if you follow my drift. And Greg know he can get away with saying this venom and cryptic news that proves without substance about forthcoming Queen material, because of his position. It sucks...but that's how it works. |
Maz 21.06.2005 19:54 |
Yes, but if all he does is spin us, no one will want to listen to him anymore. That, or we'll get really dizzy. |

Hey Richard, c'est toi le gars qui vole tout le monde quand tu echanges des choses par la poste, des items de Queen? |
Saint Jiub 21.06.2005 23:08 |
GB is useless. The only thing of substance in his post is his cowardly jabs at JSS. A statement that the check is in the mail would have been more informative than the drivel that GB posted. The stepfords and asslickers are out in force at QueenOnline. |
The King Of Rhye 22.06.2005 02:24 |
GB's statements seem self-contradictory there, dont they? He says the box sets will not be packaged in such and such way but then goes on to say that he has no idea how they will be packaged! If you dont know how something is going to be, then you cant know how its NOT going to be..............you know? |

And dont forget the 'extensive' quote, not bad for someone who doesnt know what form the boxset will take. At least he replied..... |
Erin 22.06.2005 09:12 |
Look on the bright side... We all will have plenty of time to save for the boxset/sets, as they probably won't come out for another 10 or 20 years! ;-) |

"I do wish people like that would only open their mouths with facts and accurate information, rather than with silly whisperings they hear and add to. It is not helpful and it only serves to confuse, frustrate, irritate fans, when they discover there is no truth or substance to it." I do wish GB would take his own advice and would only open his mouth when he has to say something substantial and stop irritaing fans with unprovoked attacks on other people. "Munich connection" - oh my - if that is not "silly whisperings". |
Benn 22.06.2005 09:57 |
Perhaps GB only posts at times when he feels his profile amongst Queen fans / collectors is at it's lowest. IE - when Greg feels his name's not getting that much of a mention in certain circles, he feels it's about time he got himself talked about a bit. All fair enough by me, but I wouldn't have thought he'd feel the need ot have his ego stroked that much - after all, he's down for a guest spot at the convention again...... |
inu-liger 22.06.2005 13:56 |
"Munich connection"?? That's not what I was told by GB earlier this year on the phone...! |
