Does anyone know what motivated RT to release the song Nazis 94? Well it is a great song with back vocals but is it personnal to RT or did he just want to release it to upset the f... nazis?
As he was in berlin he saw the wall and a demonstration of the nazis, a party, that still has a place in the german parliament. he was shocked by this fact an released this song.
rock on
Roger wrote Nazis in response to the claims by certain sections of the German media that the holocaust did not actually happen and that it was some kind of propaganda AGAINST the German state. Claims that, CLEARLY have no foundation whatsoever.
He also had in mind the rise in popularity of the BNP (British National Party) in the UK's General Election - he was shocked and appauled (as any decent human being would have been) at the fact that a political party, motivated by racial hatred had managed to gain control of a local council in the north of England.
Nothing to do with the fall of The Berlin Wall.
Happiness says it all to me! It is by far my least favorite Queen related album and I would put it over just about anything by anyone in the last 5 years. Queen's shit smells better than most bands greatest hits! Nazis is a good example of RT's more direct and angry lyrics, as is Dear Mr. Murdoch.
On a note about it, I met someone in England who saw Roger twice in concert. I have a love/hate relationship with British music fans. I love that you all have such great taste but I am jealous damn it! Roger could never tour in the U.S., his music could never outsell our shit! I hope all you Brits out there know that while you can't cook worth a shit, your musical taste makes us Americans look like primitive apes! Enjoy Hyde Park and all the other Queen related activities us Yanks won't be getting. Bastards!
