Well...George Harrison was his lifelong best friend, and very frequent collaborator. That's Clapton playing the solo on Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".
Clapton also played at I guess what you could call the First precursor to Live Aid...which was George Harrison's "Concert For Bangladesh" in Madison Square Garden which Clapton played at, and they toured or guestd together throughout their lives.
Clapton of course fell in love with George's wife, Patty Boyd, Harrison divorced her, Clapton married her, Clapton divorced her..and STILL they were best mates.
I have heard many times that they called one another "husband's in law" jokingly.
Great too, is as much as I love, admire and respect Clapton's last 2 blues tribute albums..
..this NEW album is supposed to ROCK!!!!
.. and be much like 1989's "Journeyman" which I have (both on CD, and also the very last vinyl record I ever bought when it first came out too!)...Love that record!

The "Preacher"! Tina Turner as The Acid Queen too.
Hijack!
Did you see the revival in 1989 with Billy Idol as cousin Kevin, hamming it up onstage with Townshend? I swear I thought Townshend was gonna piss his pants laughing. Idol stole the show. Great.

Billy Idol as cousin Kevin, great. I mean I dunno how's the guy called who plays it in the movie, but it's bloody great. I would love to see the musical btw.

Saw Clapton live in 2001...was pretty awesome. It will be interesting to hear his new work.
