I cannot believe you just said that! ;-P
Video's pretty funny, though.. Tom Cruise is such an ass. Ridiculous that you can get arrested for squirting water in someone's face!
Actually, I thought that, considering the way SOME famous folks would have handled such an incident (See Russell Crowe), Tom kept his cool, while belittling the man who did it.
I though that Tom was initially going to laugh it off, but once he figured out what was happening, he let the guy have it, but in as polite a manner that he could at the time.
I thought it was great that he wouldn't leave, kept grabbing the guys arm, saying "I'll handle this"....
Perhaps it was simply a rapid "War of the Worlds" fan expressing his thoughts on Spielberg and Cruise pissing all over one of the greatest novels ever written.
You certainly can't blame people for being upset about what looks like being one of the most dire literary "adaptations" of all time. You have to wonder why, if they wanted to make an alien invasion film, they decided to pretend it had anything to do with HG Wells' novel. Why not just use their own title if they were going to change it so much?
Sorry, rant over...

Funny to see only I think the reporter shouldn't have start insulting and Tom shouldn't make it a problem
Quite a jerky thing to do, but not as jerk as...
- Spamming message boards and e-mail addresses of people.
- Creating websites just to spread hatred towards members of a message board.
- Sending death threats and messages full of obscenities to people.
- Despite being banned, cancelled, or blocked, still be willing to do it on a constant basis.

Now speaking of Russell Crowe I'd love to see an edited version of Gladiator where Maximus kills the Emperor by hitting him with a phone.

LOL...really. I mean I am no fan of Cruise, but he DID handle it quite politely and civil.
Christ, if this prankster had done this to Russell Crowe, well today the guy would be strung up by his ba**s! and a telephone cord, bludgenoned with a phone!
Really. Crowe assaults people for no reason. Cruise at least kept his cool.
And nowadays with terrorists, a celebrity DOES have to be careful. A fake water pistol (microphone) could shoot something truly dangerous.
Just cuz I don't like Cruise's religious fanatiscm or lousy acting...doesn't mean that I do not think that he DID act very calm and civil in this situation.
I agree with you who say he handled it very well. He didn't let his anger take over. Like you said, kept his cool. I think it's very intimidating how he used the guy's conscious against him. Go Tom!
I'm no Tom Cruise fan at all. But even I can see that he puts out for his fans, he signs autographs, chats, talks to peoples' mums on the phone and all for hours at a time. Generally a nice guy. Then some twat squirts water in his face and everyone's critisising Tom for reacting. Well I say good for him, he treats his many fans with an awful lot of respect and good cheer, and doesn't deserve to be treated in that way.
what a stupid thing to do, Tom was right, he's a jerk, what was funny about that?
no wonder some artists don't wanna give interviews, and if they do, this happens, stupidity

I saw that clip this morning on the news and was quite annoyed by it. What a little crybaby Cruise is. Don't get me wrong, I don't condone rude behavior, but Cruise is ONLY an actor. He acts like people need to treat him differently just because he's made a lot of money reading lines off of a piece of paper.
Self-righteous idiot.
