That is to say, make up a set list for the concert played in the major city closest to you on either the "Miracle on Earth" or "Going Slightly Mad" tours. This was kinda triggered by the post of "The Imaginary Performance - Queen Live in Uruguay 1983" topic, and I think it'd be fun. I'll lead off with the first Canadian stop on the "Miracle on Earth" tour. Freddie, Brian, Roger and John were all excited about coming back to North America, especially with the sales of The Miracle north of the 49th. So, without further ado, the set list from "Miracle in Toronto", live from the Maple Leaf Gardens, July 15, 1989. 1. I Want It All 2. Tie Your Mother Down 3. Long Away 4. Breakthru 5. One Vision 6. A Kind Of Magic 7. Another One Bites The Dust 8. The Invisible Man 9. I Go Crazy 10. I Want To Break Free 11. Keep Yourself Alive 12. Guitar Solo 13. Now I'm Here *Intermission, band sort of lazes around, chats amongst themselves* 14. Love Of My Live 15. The Miracle 16. Fat Bottomed Girls 17. Action This Day 18. Seven Seas Of Rhye 19. Hammer to Fall 20. Bohemian Rhapsody 21. Scandal 22. Crazy Little Thing Called Love 23. Radio Ga Ga 24. We Will Rock You 25. Kashoggi's Ship 26. We Are The Champions 27. God Save The Queen/O Canada The intensity of the crowd was high when the Gardens lit up with powerful blue and white lights, almost simulating the sky above. The "Miracle Face" was displayed on a large video scren behind the stage, and out of nowhere, it spoke "I Want It All, I Want It All, I Want It All, and I Want It NOW!" Cue the massive pyrotechnics, Queen has arrived! The band pulled out all the stops for their opening number, Freddie being as lively as ever. Frederator was in a Toronto Maple Leafs tee and blue jeans, Brian was wearing his Magic Tour get-up, John was in leather jacket and shades, and Rog seemed to be wearing...well, not much. The band swung right into another high-paced number, Tie Your Mother Down, to get the place jumping. They quickly took it down a notch afterwards. Brian said something about "reaching to our bag of tricks and making some miracles tonight." And just like that, Long Away starts, completely surprising the better part of the audience! Freddie and Brian sang vocals back-and-forth, until John decided to do his own thing, and shunt the tune into Breakthru, which was the popular single at the time. One Vision and A Kind of Magic were next, with Freddie trotting out in his old Magic Tour jacket, "just for old time's sake." Another One Bites the Dust followed, with the band warning that "things are gonna get a little steamy in here." AOBtD led into the Invisible Man, with John actually singing his part, getting a good rise out of the crowd. Afterwards, another "miracle" from the band: they play I Go Crazy! No one really even knew that this song would be played live! EVER! But it received a decent response from the crowd. IWTBF followed it, which led into Keep Yourself Alive (another nifty one from the archives), after which Brian decided to do his guitar solo. It seemed the band just threw together their setlist at the last moment, which is why there wasn't any Impromptu beforehand. Now I'm Here closed out the 1st half of the concert, leaving the 20,000 or so in attendance nicely buzzed. Freddie: Now, if you'll excuse us, we need to take a bit of a break. We are, after all, four aging queens. We're old. We need rest. *trots off* (and btw, Rog was wearing Canada-flag boxers...) The intermission was a bit of a weird one. The band came back after a while with a change of clothes, but without instruments. They just sorta lay around on stage, chatting about how the concert's going, and plotting out their second half, cracking the occasional joke, stuff like that. (I honestly hope this part makes the DVD...) Eventually, Brian finds his guitar, and Love of |

Just realized: The SkyDome (now the Rogers Centre) would've JUST opened that year, so Queen would've likely played there. 55,000 people swaying in time...not quite Wembley, but on the west side of the Atlantic, that's pretty impressive. And I'm surprised at the amount of ideas so far for the two (or three) tours that could've been. I'm guessing englishyob's set list would've been for the "Heaven For Everyone" tour in 1995. |

sorry, the first time, i didn't realize we were supposed to draw a story around it, so, here's my remake tour: Innuendo tour location: Kansas City year: 1991 (a little before Freddie died) start-off: Brian,John, and Roger are on stage in their position, and Brian begins the intro, and Freddie comes out in time for the beginning line of Keep Yourself Alive 1. Keep Yourself Alive: with the lyrics altered as they were on Live Killers 2. Great King Rat 3. Ogre Battle 4. The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke 5. Brighton Rock Solo: the rest of the band leaves the stage and Brian checks with the audience every 3 minutes or so to see if they want to go on 6. Now I'm Here: Brian starts off and the band re-enters 7. Bohemian Rhapsody: after Brian's solo, the band leaves the stage and plays the record (as they always did) and re-enter's after the "Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me" part 8. Tie Your Mother Down: the band plays the intro from the record and rejoins at the beginning of the guitar riff (the band does not leave the stage here) --Medley-- 9. You And I 10. Spread Your Wings 11. Get Down, Make Love --End Medley-- 12. Mustapha 13. Let Me Entertain You 14. Another One Bites The Dust 15. Crazy Little Thing Called Love: Freddie gets out the guitar he always uses on this song -Intermission- To open the second half of the show, they should sing a couple songs by other artists: 16. Imagine, by John Lennon 17. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, by Elton John 18. Las Palabras De Amor 19. Under Pressure: before they start, the audience is surprised when David Bowie comes out on stage and performs 20. Tear It Up: David Bowie performs in this one as well 21. It's A Hard Life: David Bowie leaves and the band continues 22. One Vision 23. Who Wants To Live Forever: Brian actually sings the entire song this time 24. The Miracle: the part at the end of this song on the record is not performed (the "That time will come one day you'll see when we can all be friends:) 25. Breakthru --Medley-- 26. Headlong 27. The Show Must Go On --End Medley-- 28. Nevermore 29. Funny How Love Is 30. God Save The Queen: at the beginning of the song, David Bowie comes out and the entire band (including Bowie) bows to the audience as the music on the record plays how's that? |
