Downloaded torrent file, now how do you convert the .torrent file to something that will play?? Know this has been discussed before and still don't understand. Keep cussing to a minimum and please give me the basics of opening/converting a torrent file.
Torrent files download the concert. After you are done downloading you will have the concert in flac format. you will need to download software to play or convert the flac files. link
The .torrent file has the information needed for the bit torrent programs that you download to find and download the needed files. So first off, download a bit torrent program (I use ABC myself. A Google search of Another Bittorrent Client will find it) and install it. If it's a decent program, after you install it and click on a .torrent file link, the program should automatically come up and ask you where to store it on your computer. Once you choose that, it will try and download it. I say try as sopme torrent may be too old, bad, or just not working anymore. In which case there is nothing you can do about it.
On a side note, you may have firewall or proxy issues on your side that might prevent the downloading of torrents as well. I see some other people have that issue. Hopefully you won't have that problem.

It seems to have been covered already, but one more perspective won't hurt.
The torrent file itself is just a tiny file with the information of the download on it. When you run this in a bit torrent client you download the actual concert or whatever is being torrented. It will in most cases be, as RVW suggested, flac files, and you can convert them to wave files with Flac Front End, or directly from Nero. Alternatively you can listen to them in WinAmp when you have downloaded the flac plug in.
But any file type can be torrented. The torrent is just a delivery method. Once you have finished the download the files will be on your computer, either (depending on the client) in a folder you have specified, or in a folder called downloads or complete in the programs directory (ie. C:\Program Files\Shareaza\Downloads)
enough info??
