I'm going to see a Coldplay concert in September...have any of you seen them in concert? I think it will be a good concert, even though I would have gone to a Rolling Stones conert instead if I found tickets...
all i know is at this stage they haven't given the tour an official name
so i got some....
"Insomnia Cure On The Road 2005"
"Music To Slash Your Wrists Tour"
"We're More Important Than the Beatles, But Less Interesting"
Piss off Brenski, and get some knowledge before you post.
It's called the Twisted Logic tour.
I'm seeing them at Glasto on the 25th then Crystal Palace on the 28th of this month. Will be fantastic I know.

i was going to say get a sense of humour boy, but as you are seeing them live TWICE then you clearly are overendowed with humour glands
Read another thread in this very forum, it's called thread hijacking by idiots who have nothing to say on the subject in conversation.
Then shut up, please.

I watched their Storytellers last night and quite enjoyed it... :^)
Hope all those that are seeing them have fun!
I saw them once in concert. And honestly the people around us were so obnoxious--screaming, throwing glasses of beer around, etc, that I have no idea how good or bad the show was. I just wanted to get the hell out!
There are some bands that are kinda interesting to listen on the radio but are just damn boring live.
R.E.M., Fleetwood Mac, and Coldplay are some of them.
Chris Martin wants to be Bono soooooooooooooooo bad, that he had managed to copy the sounds and style of U2, and pawn it off as something original.
Give me a break......

no. i'm as entitled to my opinion as you are. and my opinion is they are boring
it doesn't make my opinion any more or less valid than yours - just different
you should respect MY RIGHT to hate boring bands, as i fully respect your right to be fond of barbituates substitutes ;-)

i have a coldplay album - parachutes - and i don't play it any longer as it bores me - much like travis
and one other thing....do the maths
5 people in this very thread say they negative things about coldplay
3 say positive things
and 1 abstains
work it out...i think THAT makes my opinion valid enough, so don't call me an idiot-
I guess I like the simplicity of their songs and I think they would be interesting in concert, which is why I planned to see them...I think they sound different than U2, but that's just me...every band sounds like a reincaranation of something else...one band was inspired by another...each band is a combination of inspirations..but Coldplay's new album is surprisingly better than their previous realeses..which surprised me...it shows that simplcity in lyrics is sometimes a good thing...it kind of adds innocence to the music..but that's just me...
The only problem with the blatant second-rate U2 impersonation is that it sucks...
The only positive thing Chris Martin has ever done was to knock up Gwenyth, besides that, he can take his whining and melancholy elsewhere.

Haystacks, if you don't like Coldplay, that's fine. Just allow those of us to do to enjoy it; if you can't do anything better than to criticise then don't say anything at all!

you're living on planet zog mate
that's the whole point of opinions
if i say i like bananafuckingrama and someone says they're crap - that's fine - that's their opinion
we all have o accept that everyone thinks differently
you liking coldplay doesn't make you right
and me hating them doesn't make me right either (although i guess i'm a bit close to sanity than you ;-) 0 it just means that they work for some and they don't for others
i've started getting back into UFO, sammy hagar, montrose and a few other older rock bands lately after digging the stuff out of the loft
it doesn't mean there's no room in my life for new stuff - just not coldplay, travis, morrissey and other "slash your wrists" rock - rather staple skin-eating-giant ants to my eyelids
Opinions mean nothing when they consist of "That Band Sucks." Doesn't matter if it's Coldplay, U2, or The Darkness, if you spend more time coming up with a witty insult than with actual criticism, then your opinion is worthless.
I like what I've heard of Coldplay, though I do think some of it sounds the same. I don't get the "second-rate U2" jab since I don't think they sound much like U2 at all. I definetly want to hear more of the band before I rush out to buy X & Y.

- we will have to agree to differ then! I havent seen Coldplay live but I have seen Fleetwood Mac and REM live, and they were two of the best gigs ever. It baffles me how anyone could think they were boring!
I don't much like Coldplay. I think that all their songs sound the similar.
And yes, I did chuckle at Brenski's tour names. That doesn't mean I hate them..
Does it?
