Newcastle was, im sure all of the UK leg was sold out! check the Q+PR site, that tells you which gigs were sold out i think, not 100% sure but i think it does.
Definitely NOT. Vienna was far from being sold out, Budapest wasn't sold out either. Munich, Prague, Frankfurt or Leipzig seemeed to be sold out.
Not sure about Brixton :-)
I can give you some interesting information abaut Queen tour Italian leg...
Rome.
Capacity of Palalottomatica 16.000
Capacity for Queen concert 12.000 approx
Completly sold out
Milan.
Capacity of Forum 13.500
Capacity for Queen concert 13.500
Attendence near 17.000.
I was there and i've never seen so much people at forum... people in everywhere, on the stairs too! The attendence record was 17.500 for Take (Fake) that in 1997
Florece.
Capacity of Forum 9.500
Capacity for Queen concert 9.500
Attendence 10.500
It was a kind of moltitude! I was there! What a concert! what a people in Florence!
Pesaro.
Capacity of Palas 10.500
Capacity for Queen concert 10.500
Completly sold out
Pesaro was anything BUT sold out - there were about 1.000 emty seats and also the standing was not 100% full
Firenze asalso not as crowded as written here!
And Rome never ever holds more than 10.000
Belfast and Dublin weren't sold out which suprised me- all those UK fans moaning they missed out on tickets- £30 flight over and sleep in the airport- No problem!!!
Dublin *looked* to be sold out. There didn't appear to be any empty seats and it was very full in the general admission (ie standing) area.
I was talking to one of the security staff early that afternoon and he told me that there were a few hundred tickets left but it was possible that these would be could to 'walk-up' customers on the night. That certainly seems to have been the case.
In any event, the atmosphere at the Dublin show was absolutely fantastic and is considered to have been one of the best of the whole tour.
I'm sure Thomas is right. Italian fans are very enthusiastic and Queen have a huge fan base in Italy BUT four gigs were too many. I remember there were tickets available for three out of the four Italian concerts even a couple days before them.
Italian fans are very enthusiastic
This is a stereotype... is like to say that italian fans exagerate... oh... yes we're not cold people... I know...
BUT
The only person I know of queen organization for tour in Italy said me that for the 4 concerts were sold about 49.000 tickets.
I'm sure about 17.000 ticket in Milan and sure about more then 10.000 in Rome, Florence and Pesaro... could be a little bit less but not so much less...
Sorry for my bad english... but...
- Italians speak so bad english
- And other stereotypes like these
I was both in Pesaro and Milano.
In Milano the crowd was enourmous...i have attended in the same place other concerts but never seen so many people. Though counting all of them was impossible :D
there was a big sign on the largest wall of the Forum that said SOLD OUT.
Pesaro had a smaller audience of course...i did not see empty seats but i remember that even if i was right in front of the catwalk i wasn't pushed by people (like i was in Milano), i stood quite comfortable. No SLD OUT signs here.
I agree italian crowds exagerate ;) we like to make a big mess like when there are football matches. Not because of the show...anyway it's not my case...i was there to ROCK!!!!! :P
ah..and it's true we don't study english properly...LOL
