Which queen concert dvd (in store) is the best so far ? You have to choose between WWRY, On Fire and Wembley. So no other dvd's like earls court or Hammy, because they aren't in store.
My vote would be for for On Fire. The milton keynes concert is really amazing. Great setlist (better than WWRY and Wembley. This is much more variated with the hot space stuff) , great vocals (espially Freddie is much better than at Wembley) and great audience (much better than for the WWRY dvd). The audience at Wembley is also great, i've to admit that. This dvd also has the best sound of the 3 dvd's I think. On fire has some nice extra's, although Vienna is a bit dissapointing. I'm not saying that WWRY and Wembley are bad. On the other hand : these dvd's are also fantastic. WWRY had a fantastic sound with good tuning of your sound system. Wembley is perhaps the most perfect queen concert (not the best)and it had great extra's and the camera positions are much better than on fire.
Summarized : I like WWRY, on fire and Wembley, but I love on fire the most !!!!!!!!!
We Will Rock You has awesome sound and video quality and is a great concert
but since video dont coutn id still like to mention the rainbow as my all time favorite
I am on the fence for this one. Wembely has a great set list and has a stunning epic feel but Milton Keynes is a much tighter Queen show, with the Hot Space songs sounding stunningly fresh and lively. Personally I think Milton Keynes gets my vote just because it shows Queen doing an amazing show even though at the time their popularity was suffering.
I can hardly choose between WWRY (Indeed Dust Biter, there's a DVD of Montreal '81) and Live At The Bowl. The quality of LATB is better, but I think Queen were in a superb shape during the Montreal gig. So I say WWRY.
LAW is too much "I Want To Break Free" and "Radio Ga Ga"
yes, wembley...and queen's performence at live aid...

Wembley was great. On Fire spectacular. Two complete different shows, you can't choose woch on is better. On Fire gots spectacular lights, Wembley the mightyness of wembley. Two complete different shows from complete different tours.
I love the "Bowl" but really it has to be the Live Aid set even if the excellent Smith n' Jones intro was left out! The Live Aid performance was history in the making (easy looking back now) and given the number of TV sets tuned into it at the time, legendary - 20 small minutes and 1 big performance which revolutionised the band!
I think audience makes all the difference in a gig. WWRY, you could hear a pin drop throughout. I hate them Quebecians. Wembley is great but On Fire is just astounding. I've got nothing but praise for On Fire.
I have we will rock you on dvd, released in 1998 by...um let me get the dvd box....by mobilevision, a division of Pioneer. No bells and whistles or anything just the concert. BTW the concert isnt that good because of the dubbing. Seeing Freddie singing when his mouth is closing takes away from the experience. BTW they need to release a dvd from the 70's. I'd love tho see the Live at the Rainbow concert film officilly released on dvd, as the live concert film, who cares if they dont have the entire concert, I love Jail House rock on that one and in the lap of the gods. I love the entire concert. Houston 77 would be super tight too. I loved Freddie's voice before he started singing lower, even though it was still good.
On Fire
Just seems a better set list, and maybe the stage was too larg at Wembley to get the whole atmosphere, whereas the stage at Milton Keynes was more compact.
Firstly, is We Will Rock You available for purchase? Secondly, I think Wembley is better than On Fire because of the sheer power of the show. I do like PTG and STL on On Fire and I wish Queen had kept those songs for the magic Tour but Hammer To Fall, Radio Ga Ga and One Vision add something special to the Wembley one.
Right now On Fire, Live at The Bowl is my favorite, Wembley as a close second.
I don't have WWRY on DVD though (I do have it on VHS). Thye say the DTS DVD is great.
We Will Rock You(aka Montreal '81)
Still to me the best Queen concert ever! Best versions of 'Now I'm Here', 'Dragon Attack', 'Save Me', 'Keep Yourself Alive', 'Love of My Life' and 'Let Me Entertain You' that I have ever heard. It has a great guitar/drum solo, Freddie's voice is incredible, Queen in their prime! I will say that I like this better than Houston '77 but a cleaned up release of either Earl's Court '77 or Hammersmith '79 would give this concert a run for it's money.
Return of the Champions(aka Sheffield '05)
I'm still so blown away by how great a dvd this is as I watch it for the 4th time. The show has no weakness to speak of, it has Brian and Roger(especially with the drum solo) both somehow in their live peak both instrumentally and vocally, somehow even as they approach 60. Paul's stuff and his interpretations of Queen's material is interesting, though it doesn't replace Freddie by any means. 'Bohemian Rhapsody' has never been so wonderful as it is now that it has so much meaning to it. The play taught Brian and Roger the value of theatricality, something they had lost before with Freddie's death.
On Fire At The Bowl(aka Milton Keynes '82)
Middle of the road bootleg turned into a polished release. I'll never understand why they used MK instead of EC or Ham '79. Best versions I have seen of both 'Play The Game' and 'Somebody To Love', 'Staying Power' and 'Action This Day' are great live tracks, solid show throughout.
Live At Wembley(aka Wembley '86)
Budapest was WAY better! Freddie's voice was a bit worn, the band was great, but not Queen great. The best thing about this release was the amazing as hell Brighton Rock solo. Freddie's vocal bits are always great as well. Best version I have heard of 'One Vision'.
