Who / what was teh weird guy watching Roger at the Belfast and Dublin gigs? Also spotted him in photos of the Italin gig. He spent the whole performance on the stage, looking into Roger's eyes. We thought Roger must be ill and he was keeping an eye on him. Anybody any clues? |

Paul Rodgers? |

hmmm strange.. maybe Roger is ill indeed.. i don't now |

his drum tech/roadie |
Ray D O'Gaga 07.06.2005 13:26 |
Anybody looking at Roger, his energy and the quality of his performances knows he is not ill, or at least not with anything acute. |
Mr. Scully 08.06.2005 10:14 |
Indeed, it's the roadie. I guess his job is to look constantly on Roger in case he might need something. Mostly coke/water (or whatever Roger drinks). Or in case Roger needed a spare drumstick, of course. I think it was in Munich when he dropped one of his drumsticks during the solo. Luckily for him he managed to catch it. |

Brian later found his stick and wanted to hand it to Roger but Roger didn't need it, so Brian threw into the audience. |

In Munich I was like 10 cm from the drumstick when Roger threw it after GSTQ (I was in the first row in front of B-stage but didn't jump high enough :-) Oh well... better luck next time :-) |

I have posted a pic of the Manchester Gig which quite clearly shows this guy. This should (hopefully) appear in the tour pics section in the next day or so. The guy looks like Morrissey to me. |

I was watching the Firenze DVD and indeed this guy does look pretty bizarre the way his is just kind of crouching next to Roger, eyes fixed. I'm sure the guy was just doing whatever his job is, but it does look weird, although I don't know if it's fair to say that HE is weird. Can you imagine him completing his tax forms? Occupation: Official Roger Taylor Watcher What are the qualifications for THAT job? ;-) |
KEVPAR 17.08.2005 04:18 |
That doesnt make any sense!? why wouldnt Roger have one of these with his kit: link ???? does anyone have a pic with this guy in watching him? you make it sound like he was standing right infront of the kit staring at him lol Kev x |
YourValentine 17.08.2005 06:17 |
link the picture was taken in Antwerp by Tony from Holland. This was exactly how the poor chap was sitting/kneeling and staring at Roger throughout the concert. |

Atomic Dog 17.08.2005 19:01 |
Yes it is true, a small man with glowing eyes was watching Roger to see if Monkeys would fly out of his A.. Since the rest of the band had them removed, the only ones left be in Roger |

Look at the expression on his face. Soooo intense. It does look like he's holding a pair of sticks in his right hand. |

But a little wooden basket can do his job!!...The guy not Roger!.......that would be pretty shit! and you wouldnt have to pay an inanimate object Kev x |
YourValentine 18.08.2005 08:29 |
He is the roadie, he has to take care of Roger's needs on stage. Hand him water, switch on the fan, hand him the mike when goes to the front of the stage to sing. There is nothing weird about it. On previous tours the audience just did not see the roadie because he was always sittiing behind Roger. On few occasions you can spot him in the videos. The only "weird" thing about this poor guy was that everybody could see him in this really uncomfortable position. |

I never noticed him there before you mentioned it but I had a look at my Newcastle pics, and indeed, he's in every one of them, sitting in that very same position!! He must have had a rather sore behind after the 2 hours every night =D But I don't pity him for that, I'd do it anytime ;) |

does he have to crouch?! he could at least kneel...^.^ then again, i would do anything just to watch Roger |

There ARE worse jobs in the world than having to sit close to Roger Taylor and be at his beck and call . . . ;-) |
Jjeroen 23.08.2005 06:06 |
LOL! Yes, that guy was indeed sitting with RT at EVERY show... Damn; that guy's knees, neck and back must hurt! It would be a realy Freddie thing to say. "Your job? What you do? You're my PA, dear, just kneel down next to me and give me service." |

i saw that in newcastle, he handed Roger different drumsticks for different songs, like different weights, so he must of had a list with which drumsticsk for which song, he did it all night. |

I WONDER IF ITS THE SAME GUY POSTING ON HERE WHERE ROGER LIVES?????? |
skidoo-jim 29.08.2005 23:10 |
I saw that guy back in 1978 in toronto. He sat beside the drum kit then but he was only 12 inches tall so not many people noticed him. I just thought he was a leprichan. He has grown since then,, or maybe I was just seeing things... |
