Let's try this: My Fairy King Some Day, One Day Loser In The End Nevermore Fairy Fellers (don't believe they played it) Funny How Love Is Tenement Funster Lily Of The Valley Dear Friends Misfire She Makes Me Seaside Randezvous Good Company Long Away (unless you count the last tour with PR) You And I Drowse All Dead All Dead Fight From The Inside Who Needs You Jealousy Dead On Time In Only Seven days Fun It (well... there was something, like the snippets but.. can we count it as a song?) Leaving Home Ain't Easy More Of That Jazz Don't try Suicide Sail Away Sweet Sister Coming Soon *most of the Flash album Dancer Las Palabras De Amor (there was a rumour but unconfirmed) Cool Cat Man On The Prowl Machines (well- bits used as a taped intro OR as a basis for the keyboard solo, but as a song- no) Keep Passing The Open Windows One Year Of Love pain Is So Close To Pleasure Gimme The Prize Don't Lose Your Head Princes Of The Universe That should be it. Feel free to corect |

Many thanks. I guess most of those make sense for not being played in one way or another. Nevermore was played at the BBC wasnt it? Does that count as live? Might that not mean it was played live elsewhere aswell? Just a thought. |
Fenderek 06.06.2005 06:07 |
I wouldn't count BBC as a live performance. And apparently it was never played anywhere else. |
Serry... 06.06.2005 06:34 |
Fenderek's list is correct, but since we count Bring Back That Leroy Brown - I think we might count Fun It too. Very short piano improvisation with some bits from My Fairy King was played once in Japan '85. You can find such list in Greg Brooks' book "Queen Lives", though there are some incorrects: Jesus was played live. |

Here's some info on 'Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke' being played live... An old trading friend of mine, I believe his name was Mark Tretman (went by the name SuperTrouper back in the old Goldmine trading/selling days) who lived in Southern CA, told me back in 1992 that when he saw Queen in LA (I think) in the mid 70's that there was one guy in the audience who kept shouting out for 'Fairy Feller's', and I guess to shut him up, Freddie, and then some of the band, launched into an impromptu ver. of the song. He said they just played a small bit...Mark was a huge Queen fan and he even sent me pics he had of backstage photos with himself, his mom and Queen in Japan, 1982, so I'll take his word on it. - Kamen |

Very interesting. No recording from the show? Maybe. There is less then like 300 shows on bootleg, Queen did like 700+. I Guess we will really never know if they played snipplets of some song's here and there. I guess one of the most wanted is the opening of the NOTW USA tour with sleeping on the sidewalk, talked to a old guy that went to that show and wrote down all the songs they played, he said they did play sleeping on side walk with not much crowd reaction. |

Id love to hear a version of Las Palabras and sleeping on the sidewalk from the Freddie era - theres probably someone holding onto them for dear life if they exist - for the very reason that we all want them so much! Fingers crossed eh - Im sure we'll see em one day. Its all very interesting though - cheers for the response all! |
