Any football fans around here? Me being a Tottenham fan am rather pissed off this morning. It has been a good week. Dirty Arsenal's dirty Ashley Cole has been a a spoilt little prick and been fined, as were Arsenal and Chelsea in some part. Ahsley Cole is a knob - all this rubbish about Arsenal being disloyal and how he could ne envisage playing for another club, not least in this country. I think he should take a look in the mirror: why go have a meeting in the first place with another club?! Anyway... Now dirty Chelski and their arrogant ways have decided to try and ruin my clubs good season by illegally approaching my Director of Football? What a bunch of bastards. Who do they think they are? However, I don't know who I am more dissapointed with. Frank Arnesen or Chelsea. In the short time he has been at the club, Uncle Frank has won our hearts. He is a very clever football brain and a very shrewd investor when it comes to talent. But how can he kick us in the teeth like this? What does this mean for Martin Jol? I do hope he is far more loyal. For once, on a day when we have roughly a one in four chance of qualifying for the UEFA Cup, in an end of season when for once us Spurs fans have nothing to worry about and something to look forward to, do we get bad news. Didn't question his charity did I? Questioned his morals as a man in the footballing world. He comes over here and thinks he can just run the show? Just cause he's got money? Bollocks. You'd think they'd have learned after the Ashley Cole case, but no - they have to make ANOTHER illegal approach. Idiots. Like to see their excuse for this one. |

I completely agree. Couldn't be more pleased with someone who gives away his own for fortune peacefully to help others, without want for personal gain. But it's a complete about face in the football world. However, whether he makes the decisions, or whether people make decision on behalf of him becuase he has the money is perhaps a different story. I never used to really think it about Chelsea, bout now in the last few weeks things have gotten ridiculous, I've started to believe that they are just trying to "buy" football. |

Apparently Chelsea officially approached Spurs 2 weeks ago to talk to him and now, after the Cole enquiry verdict, they decide it was an illegal approach? Maybe Spurs want Chelsea to be deducted more points at the start of next season so that they can find it easier to close the 43pt gap between the two clubs. I am sure the Football League will find Chelsea guilty so that they can get more money in their coffers. Liverpool tap up a player a few years back and are fined £20,000 - Chelsea total £500,000. |

Actually some 'moral problems' are in all clubs, not only in Chelsea. You probably know guy - Sergey Rebrov, who couldn't leave Spurs for a long time, because no-one wanted let him go and no-one wanted to let him play neither... It's not very good, IMHO |

Rebrov was a very good player. It was less that we didn't want to let him go, just £11million is a big investment for a club like Spurs, espeially a few years ago. The manager who signed him left, a new boss came in, he didn't fit into his plans, that's life, same with any "job". We let him go on loan for 18 months to Fenerbahce in Turkey, but he didn't really enjoy it. His contract ran out, and he went to West Ham. They got promoted to the Premiership recently, so I'm pleased for him. I hope Chelsea get proper punished for this though. Somethings gotta shut them up. |

Thus, we had no chance to turn down their advances, which is both very ungamely and underhand. We could have turned down the approach, and things could have been sorted in a proper way. And Liverpool were fined a lesser amount a few years back, but a few years back money was different in football. And it ain't at all about closing a points gap, it's the point of the way Chelsea are conducting themselves. Bully tactis should not be allowed, and it is ridiculous. The "large" fine imposed on Chelsea was in the hope to shock them and stop them from breaching rules and conduct again. However, for most clubs, this fine would have worked. But for Chelsea, £500,000 is nothing unfrotunately. |

Fair point Bob. It just seems incredibly arrogant of Chelsea to do this again after the Cole affair. But I think I'm more pissed off with Arnesen than with Chelsea. We all know that tapping-up occurs in football, so there's no point in getting upset if one of your players/team's staff is tapped-up. What is upsetting that Arnesen has so readily admitted that he wants to leave Spurs when he's not even a 3rd of the way through his contract with us, and he's no reason to be upset with the club and to leave us in this manner after a very promising first season. As always with us, just when things start to look up, something turns up to set us back again. What I can't see is Arnesen fitting into the Chelsea setup. Mourinho doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that would be happy to be working underneath a Sporting Director. Bye-bye, Mr Arnesen. Wanker. |

Bob mate, its not the point of "on your own doorstep" as such, it's the principle and audacity of the matter. Like Bohardy said, a promising season for once with a close-season I'm looking forward to, everything is looking good at the Lane for once. And then a man who we all adore just kicks us in the nuts becuase the rich bully from down the road clicks his fingers and makes it happen. It's not on. And, especially after what has just happened with Ashley Cole. Oh well, 7.45 tonigh, its the Fair Play draw for the UEFA Cup. Come on Spurs... |

I reckon Chelsea made an official approach here.i don't think YOU have grasped the principles of The Bosman Ruling they are that, a player under contract cannot be approached directly, the management of his club must be approached and their refusal or acceptance is abided by. a player under contract has to be told of an approach a player under contract cannot talk to another club finally, (and perhaps more importantly) if a player is under contract for five years he will be paid for five years, whether he is picked to play or not! he can if he chooses pick up his salary and waste away in the reserves. working in a bank is entirely different - the bank can "let you go" and only have to pay you a small severance - a month pay for every year you worked there....feel free to tell me how both cases are the same! |

THis is bollocks. Illegal approaches have been going on for years. Tottenham had no qualms about hiring George Graham despite his history & don't even start about Terry Venables.... If the FA want to do something about it, fine, but it has to apply equally to everyone. The problem is it can't, because it's too widespread. Having said that, Chelsea can't complain - they do APPEAR to have the arrogance to break the rules in public - and the punishment is shite. The fine is irrelevant (to be honest it would be for most Premiership sides), and the suspended points penalty is a joke. If you want to deter them from doing it again, it's a ten point penalty suspended for 5 years - that would make them more careful in future. Finally, it's too late to complain about the inequality of the FA's punishment system. The time for that was when Rio Ferdinand got an 8 month ban for exactly the same offence as another player had been fined for a couple of months earlier. |

Here's a fact I absolutely love... Keane, Defoe, Kanouté and Mido have scored more goals this season than Manchester United as a squad. There's something to brighten up the lives of Tottenham fans. That and Martin Jol has made a statement reassuring us that he is going nowhere basically, and chins up and look forward to next year. |
