My sources (now including Fenderek) have found highly interesting info. about a Queen Innuendo tour. Most people think that the Magic tour was their last. But it is NOT. We are still searching for info. about a Breakthru tour (we found live footage, but we can't discover from wich tour), but we are sure about an Innuendo tour and highly special a Queen Greatest Hits (One Night Only). Perhaps more interesting is the fact Freddie Mercury wasn't suvering from AIDS and he isn't even dead (more in next report). Our secret agent inside the Queenzone mafia stole one of the hunderds of DVD's. This DVD contain's "Queen Going Slightly Mad At Oxford 26.02.1991" the opener of teh extravargante Innuendo tour. They played only 12 shows, since it was a "secret tour" (Queen's popularity was to huge to make it public). This is the tour list: Again Urk seems to be a popular venue for secret tours 26.02.1991 Oxford, UK 27.02.1991 Oxford, UK 03.03.1991 Fishmarket, Urk, Netherlands 04.03.1991 Fishmarket, Urk, Netherlands 07.03.1991 Ealing College, US 13.03.1991 Hofbrauhaus, Munich, Germany 14.03.1991 Hofbrauhaus, Munich, Germany 27.03.1991 The Moulin Rouge, Paris, France 02.04.1991 Hitsikolita, shamiko, Tokyo (breakfast show) 02.04.1991 Hitsikolita, shamiko, Tokyo (lunch show) 02.04.1991 Hitsikolita, shamiko, Tokyo (dinner show) 05.04.1991 Royal Albert Hall, London, UK The tour setlist is this: 1. A Beatiful Day 2. Bijou 3. Breakthru 4. Somebody To Love 5. Barcelona (Roger sang the Montsserat Caballee part, except for the Hofbrauhs's second night show where Miss Caballee herself appeared) 6. Rock It 7. I'm In Love With My Car 8. Modern Times Rock 'n' Roll 9. No More of That Jazz 10. Princes Of The Universe 11. The Hitman 12. Ride The Wild Wind 13. I Want It All 14. I have an amazingly different set list than yours, but I know it's from 1991, because John says something about the new single 'Don't Try So Hard'. Apparently this was supposed to be the third single, but Brian threw a fit and wanted 'Headlong' instead. This is my set list: 1. Breakthru 2. Sheer Heart Attack 3. Somebody To Love 4. I'm Going Slightly Mad 5. A Kind Of Magic 6. I Want It All 7. Don't Try So Hard 8. Life Is Real (Song For Lennon) 9. Keep Passing The Open Windows 10. I Want To Break Free 11. The Invisible Man 12. The stage looks like a big old theatre. it looks like the one in the "A kind of Magic" clip.In front of the drumm there is a large coach (The one used in the Innuendo clip). Freddie starts the show in a white pants with a purple leather jacket. under teh jacket is a colbert. During I'm Going Slightly Mad he changes from outfit to the one from the IGSM clip with the wig. At We Will Rock You he appears with a large hat. And a chinese dragon appears on stage :-S. During the show there are watter effects and fire effects like you never saw them before. |

can you send the mafia out to find out the info of the alleged collabaeration between Queen and U2 prior to the innuendo album, i heard of this happening sometime during 1989/1990, apparently worked together on the track Show Must Go On, but U2 were not credited for some reason, can the mafia shed some light on this? :P |

I'm wondering, why did they play a SECRET tour instead of just broadcasting it. |
deleted user 05.06.2005 05:09 |
Smittygecko wrote: I'm wondering, why did they play a SECRET tour instead of just broadcasting it.Well there where several reasons for. Queen was becoming a cult, apart from Queen fans a lot of families or work party's went to Queen shows. They only wanted to hear the real big Queen songs and Queen didn't really feel like that. And they wanted to give the real Queen fans more change to get to a show. Real Queen fans would find out if there would be a secret concert. Apart from that they wanted to take it easy sometimes, and get back to the old days where they played small venues. And our sources also found an interview with Freddie from '83 (the Urk one) where they are asking wether this is a secret tour and why the chose urk. Freddie's answering that he wants to put back some more mysterie in their music. a quote: "People, people know a lot about us. They haven't got anything to be curious at anymore since they know it all. The Beatles had like euhm sort of mysteries with the hole Lucy's In The Sky With Diamands thing and like more. And we decided that we should also do that. It's partly just fooling arroung dear. And what was the second half of the question again?. Ow yes wel we love, euh love Urk. Just tiny little fish town and Brian feels at home cause you all wear cloggs. Apart from that this is a small town, and you got no connections what so ever with the rest of the world, so it will maintain a secret." reporter: "There have been 18 camera's from TVURK filming your urk show. And I have been to your first Urk gig, and I think it is one of the best shows I've ever seen. That's why I wonder why you guys bought the tapes, to never let it be broadcast." Freddie: "Well as we said we wanted to keep it a secret. If you'd air like live, I mean they would all go to out last gigs, and that's not what suosed to happen. And we don't want to get the material seen by other people in the future just to keep the mysterie alive you see" |
