I have not mentioned this yet, but in April I got a new job at another larger daycare. I have been ten times happier at this new daycare and love the kids and my co-workers. I also get paid on time, I get paid the right amount, and I am treated nicely here. I honestly cannot say I received any of these things at my last job, unfortunately. Well, quite a lot of the time I get comments from my co-workers saying how I work too hard and my boss has gotten into the habit of saying to my co-workers how they need to take my example of being a hard worker and behaving as I do with the kids.... Anyway, today my co-worker, Allena, jokingly said that I needed to be made employee of the month because I work the hardest. Long story short (yeah right), my boss, Carla, said that she would start doing the employee of the month thing and she would start giving a $50 bonus to the employee of the month! Carla also told me in private that I will be receiving the $50 bonus and the employee of the month title, because of my hard work and great work ethic. :^) YAY! ...now, here's hoping this doesn't create TONS of hard feelings towards me!...LOL |

Thanks, everyone! I was pretty happy to hear this news, although, in all seriousness, I do hope that my co-workers won't be irritated that I got it first considering I have only been working there since April 25th. I'm even considering telling Carla to give it to someone else first who is also deserving and perhaps let me have it next time. |

If any co-worker gets mad at you for that then perhaps they should do something about their own work habits!! Don't worry about anyone getting angry with you for getting the bonus. You earned it and you got it!! Be proud!!! :) |

Thanks again, everybody. :^) Barb- I will start trying to write a couple stories down to post here. :^) I do have one I can tell you now, tho. Every day all the kids and all the teachers in our preschool room sit down and have circle time. Circle time is just when the teachers ask the kids if they have anything to say - good or bad things that have happened, etc, etc. Well, anyway, sometimes the kids go off on tangents (LOL) and then this 4 year old boy named Alex started talking about his parents. He said that he saw his mommy and daddy wrestling naked in their bedroom! ...So now we tell the parents to be careful what they say and do in front of their kids, cos it WILL be told at circle time! LOL Lisser - thanks for the advice. I am just really very glad that I have good relationships with all the people that work there and I'd hate for anything to ruin it. Here is hoping nobody will get irritated with me! |
Janet 02.06.2005 08:40 |
Oh dear..LOL! |
Lisser 02.06.2005 10:41 |
OH YES!! Those little ones will tell tell tell!! Cameron told her 1st grade class in "newsy news" this year that "mommy sneezed and farted at the same time this morning." How wonderful, especially since I work in the same school district she attends. Lovely. When she was almost two she told my mother-in-law that daddy's favorite word is fuck and mommy's is god damnit. Once when she was about 18 months old she was in her carseat while we were driving. Someone pulled out infront of me and normally I would have said my usual, "What the hell asshole!!" However I had been really working on what words I used in front of her bc at that age they repeat whatever they hear. So the person pulled out in front of me and I said, "What THA" and stopped at that. Then I hear a sweet little angelic voice come from the backseat saying, "Hell asshole, what the hell asshole mommy." I almost peed my pants. Kids are great but they are more than capable of being turds. Anthony is at that age now too where he repeats everything. The other week I said something about him having sexy legs. So now he says, "I sexayyyyyyyy!!!" Maybe Paulie has some competition now with the sexaaaaaaaaay??? ;) |

I don't think I will be getting a big head in this situation, but thanks for the warning, Thomasquinn. ;^) Yesterday a three year old girl named Makayla and I had this conversation: Makayla: what is in your shirt? Me: *laughs* well, what do you think? Makayla: Oranges? Me: haha..no. Makayla: *tries to peek* can I see your boobs? Me: *laughs* no, no...can't look inside. She's sweet and I call her Miss Smiley. :^) |

Congrats, Amanda. Hope that bonus does you well. Now back to the topic of kids, some of them can be quite naughty in their own kinky (yet innocent) ways. A friend of my sis has this baby who would stare at boobies, and sometimes he would try to grab them if he catches you off guard. Now that he's almost 3, he's been seen humping big stuffed animals. I can't imagine how he'd be when he turns 16. I'd certianly be very afraid if I was the father of a girl that he's going out on a date with. |

He said that he saw his mommy and daddy wrestling naked in their bedroom!I have a good explanation for that one... Alex, Mommy and Daddy are wrestling because they're having a silly game fight over whether you'll have a little brother or a little sister. Whoever wins, picks the baby. |

A few weeks, on the the night before I got my second vasectomy (the first one did not work) while I was putting my 8 year old son to bed: son: Daddy - good luck on your operation. Is it on your head? me: no it's on my testicles. son: why? me: Mom and I do not want to have anymore babies. son: mom has the babies. why are you having an operation? me: because it is easier for the daddy - they don't have to cut as deep on me as they would on mommy. son: I still don't understand me: well, um, daddy provides a seed to help make a baby. hmmm ... you know how when your seven year old brother is tired, and lays down on the floor and humps the floor? son: no me: uh well ... I interrupt this story in order to preserve my own sanity ... |

Hahaha. I remember (well..ok..I don't really remember but we have it homevideo so I seen it plenty of times) when I was about five years old. My mum loves tetris to this day and always used to play it when it was one of the only computer games out there. She would get mad occassionaly and slip a few swears here and there. Well, one day she was sick, lying on the couch and she grabbed the video recorder. I was at the computer playing Tetris (obivously I had absoluetly no idea of how to play... I was just hitting random buttons and whacking the keyboard) and every other five seconds I would say, "Oh shit!," or "Damn!" It was just funny cos I said it about fifteen times in less than five minutes. I was just going on and on until she shut the camcorder off. It doesn't sound that funny on here, but watching the video is just priceless. My mum was laughing quietly (I did not know she was getting me on camera...my back was facing her) the whole time while she recorded it. |
Lisser 03.06.2005 19:46 |
I'd LOVE to see that video!!! I would probably pee myself if I saw it!! That's great!!! |

Yeah, my name is Amanda, Lisser. I used to use the nick Alli James, but I changed it a long time ago. I prefer being called Amanda, but you're welcome to call me Alli. Just don't call me Herbert and I'm good. ;^) I do agree that kids can come up with some funky stuff. I've been working with kids for over two years now and they never cease to amaze or shock me. I always love hearing the variations of my name that the kids have. I've been called Fanda, tahmanda, amana, banana (no kidding), and all other sorts! |
Hitman 03.06.2005 21:07 |
Fanda? LOL Banana? ROTFL! :D |
Daburcor? 03.06.2005 21:08 |
What if she called you Alimanda? ;) |

Hmm...I could deal with that. ;^) |

I don't mind baby sitting kids, in fact I enjoy it a lot, as long as they are out of nappies. As an ex undertaker you can imagine the sights and smells I have experienced in my lifetime but nothing, I say again NOTHING, compared to the contents of my nephews nappy. I am still scarred by the experience. I deserved $50 everytime I changed him. |
