They weren't banned because we didn't agree with them. They were banned for spamming the board with as many as 70-80 posts a day, some hostile, all pointless and annoying.
"Tis a shame that we have to resort to banning people we don't agree with."
- Did you ever see Richard Orchard or YourValentine argue/disagree with Johnmercury personally? I certainly didn't. So how do you see it as Johnmercury being banned because opinions conflicted?
All of us who have been here for a long time know that people are banned because of hostility or because of spamming. Since this applied to Johnmercury in both ways, I don't see why anyone would question the reason behind his banning.
I think that people that take part in being hostile towards other posters (you know who you are) should take note of this action that Richard/YV have taken. Don't think that you are immune to banning just because banning is done so rarely around here.

c'mon allow a girl some input around here...after all, she's just coming to terms with losing a great admirer (albeit, she was ONLY SECOND on his list) - how would you feel if someone who regarded YOU so highly was no longer around? ;-)
...me? i feel great - but then i WAS only ninety-fucking-seventh on JohnMercury's list
and by the way, that applied to the John Lydon that drove Linda off the board. In case you didn't notice, he was less annoying if you people didn't bring up the topic of his identity.
They were one in the same.
edit* and this is my last post on the topic of Lydon/Freddie's voice/JohnMercury. Sorry you don't agree that he should have been banned, but I think you'll find that the majority here do. If you are really such a fan of his, perhaps you should get his MSN address and chat with him there so you can enjoy his company and not have to deal with this "sucky board" any longer.
