in 1975 queen were in blankenberghe(this is a city at the belgian coast)I've seen a picture of it so I know it's true.I only wonder if they did perform a song or sometin'.I don't know what the show was about.does anyone know?
There was no show in Europe in 1975. UK, US, Japan only.
So they were obviously just passing through on their way somewhere interesting.
Why not show us the pic? Presumably of Queen standing by a "Welcome to Belgium" sign and prominently holding up a 1975 newspaper...
I'm not the idiot here!like I didn't know there was no show in belgium then! The fact is that they were in belgium for a certain show or somehing and I just wondered what it was.Since I presume that the people over here know a lot about queen I thought someone could give me some more information but all I get are some pseudo-funny messages
Ahhh! Man cool that you mention it!!!
The father of my girlfriend told me he had seen Queen in 1974 in Blankenberghe. Could have been 1975 as well he said.
It was before they had a hit with Bo Rhap.
It was a festival where top acts mimed their current hit single.
For Queen this was Killer Queen.
Man this is really cool beacause i kinda never believed the father of my girlfriend by saying he saw Queen in Blankenberghe!
Could you please sent me a picture of that??
My e-mail is mrducksoup@hotmail.com
Thanks!!
I searched the internet and discovered that Rory Gallagher also played in Blankenberghe in 1975.
just take a look at: link and you will see:
7/24/1975 Blankenberge B
He was there on July 24, 1975. It's his only appearance in Blankenberghe ever.
The father of my girlfriend told me he saw Queen during a summer holiday in Blankenberghe.
Queen's Sheer Heart Attack Tour started on 30.10.1974 in Manchester, UK (link and ended in Tokyo on 01.05.1975.
Queen's A Night At The Opera Tour started on 14.11.1975 Liverpool, UK (link
So in between those two tours was the summer of 1975. They were not on the road in the summer of 1975. I think they flew to Belgium to promote themselves at that Blankenberghe festival.
on another website: link
I found out that there was a festival in Blankenberghe in 1975 called: Gouden Leeuwen" (Golden Lions)
Belgium folk singer Eddy Wally won an award there in 1975.
I'm glad someone knows what I'm talking about.I've seen a picture of it in a newspaper here in belgium..I would like to send you the article(it's about the recent tour)with that picture(which is small)but I do not have a scanner.I will ask a friend but for now I have to study!cool isn't it
Queen were at the Theatre 140 (in Bxl) in December 1974. It was their first gig here & the bootleg is not that bad.
As for a mimed-performence... Greg Brooks might be able to answer that.

I know about the 1974 gig. The audience recording of that show is acceptable indeed.
But I don't think Greg will be able to tell something about the mimed 1975 gig. Otherwise he would have mentioned that before in his book.
Even Mr. Scully has not stated it on his website. Few people know about the Blankenberghe show i think. It was not that important i guess. They only mimed one song.

Please scan the article at the highest resolution possible. My G-mail account can recieve messages up to 10 MB so that's no problem.
Please sent the scan to: dennisrouers@gmail.com
The father of my girlfriend would be very happy to see the picture.. (and will be too offcourse!)
Really cool!!
Thanks again!
Good point. Time to correct my concertography - if anybody finds out the exact date :-)
Could you please send me the photo to webmaster@queenconcerts.com?

Greg's not able to tell anyone *anything* - the are so many errors in "his book" that it's laughable. Better off using Mr Scullys excellent site or simpley ontacting local Belgian TV stations directly.

Like Hangman being played at Golders Green Hippodrome...
