Hello, fans of Queen and this board. As most of you know, I'm not a very serious person, but I can be if the mood strikes me. Right now, after perusing the three sections that I frequent the most - Personal, General, and Serious Discussions - I am sad. And a little sleepy. But mostly sad. Why am I sad? Well, in case your eyes have been poked out by a rusted spoon a few weeks ago, you would know that the ongoing fighting and bickering has becoming, quite frankly, a pain in the ass. There is a circle of members who are constantly hijacking every thread, starting new, pointless threads that just cause more strain and bump good topics off the front page. I will name names, even though everybody knows who they are: John Mercury, Crazy Little Thing Called Me, and Deaconfan. You are singlehandedly ruining this board and making all the worthwhile posters retreat. In case everybody doesn't know, John Mercury is John Lydon - yes, that has been established already. But I don't need to read it in every thread, nor do I need to see all the constant bitching that every thread ultimately degenerates into. This is not an elaborate post to indicate that I am leaving, though I do find myself heading over toward Queen Online more frequently because they at least have something worthwhile going on occasionally. I cannot do anything about this situation; I am sure I'm not alone with some of the more regular posters when I feel completely helpless as I watch the board I used to love so dearly turn into what it's turned into. I refuse to plea or beg, because it does nothing. I was also hesitant about starting another thread on the subject, but it's gotta stop. Personally, I have had enough, and will be taking a break from this place until things get better. There is really nothing that I can do, and I don't mean this to be a whine against Barbara or Richard or any of the other fine posters on this board. But a man, or me, can only take so much; I think that a "time out" of sorts is the best solution, as it's plain as day that John Mercury or Deaconfan are certainly not going anywhere anytime soon. John Mercury - registered on April 7th but did not post much before last week. He posted 377 messages in one week, almost exclusively fights with other users. He is banned from posting from now on Freddie's voice - same person, 723 messages in 4 weeks, the account was deleted. Don't come back Deacon Fan - was banned before, was given a second chance in case he changed his attitude and did not get in fights with other users. The account was deleted - don't come back, Crazy Little Thing Called Me - registered with a fake email address, posted 230 hostile messages within 7 days - you are banned from posting on Queenzone. Don't try to come back. We succeeded with our abuse case against Brians mullet/Luke and if any of you tries to re-register, we will not hesitate to file an abuse complaint against you. This did not happen because Lester started this thread, it would have happened anyway. Thanks to all the members who supported us in the last week - mainly Mike (RVW), Bob and the others - you know who you are. I hope I can make some better use of my free time now. |

Applause!!!! I have to say that I have been coming here less of late because of all the aforementioned garbage - finally there has been something done!! Hopefully we can all learn from this in that we must pull together as a community when there are problems. |

as always its a shame when people refuse to take responsiblity for themselves and at least try to be decent to other people YV and Richard have better things to do then to have to babysit posters on the NB day after day I long for the old days here when i first found the zone so many years ago.... there are a few who know what i am talking about... where YV and Richard did not have to do a thing... where grown ups and teenagers alike..knew understood and respected how special the zone is and acted accordingly... and if they did not-- it was the chat--the NB together as one who made sure the behaviour changed now its everyone for themselves--unless its a birthday greeting cordial to some and not to others attention seekers abound-- for whatever reason and sooner or later everyone gets slagged off... agh vie..... life is real |
