Obviously it would never happen, but I think the Platinum Collection should be re-released as a 4 disc set consisting of 3 discs of valid Queen hits (it's not as if there's not enough songs, despite what GH3 would have you believe) and a fourth disc of solo material. This fourth disc could include the genuinely succesful solo hits like Living On My Own, Barcelona and Driven By You (which many people have probably heard and not realised they're by Queen members) and include other noteable solo material which may not have been so commercially succesful but will give the listener a taste of what Queen's members' solo work is like.
What should the tracklisting for a disc like this be?
My suggestion would be:
01) Starfleet (Brian May)
02) Driven by you (Brian May)
03) Too much love will kill you (Brian May)
04) Back to the light (Brian May)
05) Resurrection (Brian May)
06) Why don't we try again (Brian May)
07) Love kills (Freddie Mercury)
08) I was born to love you (Freddie Mercury)
09) The great pretender (Freddie Mercury)
10) Barcelona (Freddie Mercury)
11) In my defence (Freddie Mercury)
12) Living on my own (Freddie Mercury)
13) Future Management (Roger Taylor)
14) New Dark Ages (The Cross)
15) Nazis 1994 (Roger Taylor)
16) Foreign Sand (Roger Taylor)
17) Happiness? (Roger Taylor)
18) Surrender (Roger Taylor)
sounds a nice idea...
I'd include "No Turning Back" so there's a presence from all 4 band members on the cd - and instead re-releasing GH 1, 2 & 3 I'd do Best Of cds like Bowie, something like this:
Cd 1) Best Of Queen 1973-1978
Cd 2) Best Of Queen 1979-1984
Cd 3) Best Of Queen 1985-1995
Cd 4) Best Of The Rest (b sides/rarities + NOBY)
Cd 5) Best Of Queen: Solo
