I like all his songs but esspecialy More of that jazz, Drowse and I'm in love with my car. I don't like Radio gaga on record. It's too much pop for my. Radio gaga live is very cool with all that handclapping. |

If only More Of That Jazz didnt have the cheesy medley, it would be perfect. Great riffs, great vocals, simple but catchy trademark Roger lyrics, and the drum beat - class. Solo wise, his arrangement of Working Class Hero is immense. Very epic. |

Best solo track that should have been on a Queen album.......Man On Fire (placed on The Works instead of Radio GaGa) 'It's An Illusion could have replaced 'Machines' 'Let's Get Crazy' SHOULD have been the third track on Hot Space Best solo track when cruising down the highway on a sunny afternoon (or at home at night with the lights out)....London Town-Cmon Down. |

Happiness? wrote: I've always loved Where Are You Now? and Pressure On. The Electric Fire album is immense!Totally agree with you. EF has some of best songs Roger ever wrote, imo. Though Happiness might be more cohesive album. I just don't get people who they LOVE Fun In Space or Strange Frontier. Those sound so dated and are quite poorly produced. |

Missy May wrote: I love Sheer Heart Attack for a Queen song and Nazis 1994 for a solo song. Never heard anything by the cross. Is any of their stuff good? (Sorry for being so niave!)Shove It (first Cross album) is actually a Roger Taylor solo album that he released under the name The Cross to promote the new live band he had just formed (and went on to record two albums with). It's IMO the weakest of Roger's solo albums. Mad Bad & Dangerous to Know (2nd Cross album), the first proper Cross album, it's pretty good, doesn't really add anything new or original to the world of music, but is a good old-style classic rock / power ballad album. Roger only wrote two of the songs though, so it's not really "his" songs, any more than Radio GaGa was Freddie's song. Blue Rock (3rd Cross album) the second proper Cross album. The band are starting to find their own style here rather than just paying homage to the classic rock genre. This album has a darker, slicker feel to it, and it's a pretty good album. Once again Roger only wrote two songs. So there you go. Shove It is still easily available (the original 1987 stock doesn't seem to have shifted yet!) from queenonline, amazon etc, but it's not a must have IMO. The two real Cross albums are not as rare or expensive as those lying record price guides claim (I found mine easily on E-Bay for £25 and £30 - the price guides say £80 each!) and are both worth getting. |

I realise this thread is some days old, but I just love so many of his songs that I have to post here anyway ;) for me it'd have to be: Queen - definitely Days of Our Lives The Cross - Final Destination (although I prefere the version with Yoshiki) - always wished it was recorded by Queen and got the recognition it deserved solo - there's a lot of them, maybe... Old Friends, reminds me of DOOL a lot, or almost the entire Electric Fire album, London Town is one of my favourites from that record, very cool. |
