Hi guys,
since I became a Queen fan whenever I visit a city that has a Hard Rock Cafe I take a look inside trying to find any Queen memorabilia on their displays. Most of the times I found nothing.
Two weeks ago, I was in Ottawa and in their Hard-Rock Cafe they had a blue Fender Stratocaster signed by Brian. Does anyone know something about this guitar? Did Brian actually play it? Or it was just signed by him. (The two times I remember seeing him with a strat in his hands was during the Play the Game video, and it was a sunburst one, and also during the Miller Strat Pack anniversary at Wembley last year)
I'll leave a list of Hard Rock Cafes I visited and what I found...or not...in them.
Please add other locations and the items, so we could have a complete list. I wonder what they have in London.
Niagara Falls Canada - nothing
New York - Pictures and album covers ( some of them with signatures, If I'm not wrong)
Edinburgh - nothing
Lisbon - nothing
Toronto - nothing
Ottawa - Pictures, album covers (I remember A Kind of Magic) and the blue Strat signed by Brian
Montreal - nothing
Sydney - a signed album cover, poss Live Magic.
Los Angeles - something similar, can't remember exactly.
As for the signed guitar, I doubt Brian ever played it - there are photos from the FM Tribute of everybody signing posters & guitars backstage, including Liza Minnelli.
Buenos aires has a drum piece from roger, a kite from ADATR and a mercury tribute concert poster with all the sigs from who was to preform, and out side on a wall Freddie is painted from a live aid scene, along with some other stars.
Beijing had some items but my memory is faulty. I seem to remember a big picture of the News of the World robot, and maybe some record award for Radio GaGa.
Orlando....a couple
I'll have to check with Susan later on for more details. Wouldn't be surprised if London, Reykavic (sp), and Paris had some.
Cleveland did have one pic back in 2000 (would have to search through our photo album).
Baltimore has one of Freddie on the first supporting post on the right as you walk in....plus another somewhere else.
We plan on stopping there in two weekends when we watch me ol' Tigers play Baltimore in baseball at Camden Yards.
joe, wife, and the metro Baltimore mutt+
Chicago did have an autographed picture of the original Greatest Hits.
Of course, that was more than a decade ago, so I don't know if that is still up.

Rui, a guy was selling Strat Scratch Plates autographed by BHM on EBay a while ago. He was also selling about 5 others all with autographs from other guitarists.
I think he just turns up at PR functions and gets them signed, then sells them to put on your own Strat.
some years ago i offered the hard rock group some nice stuff inc the vest that freddie was wearing at rock in rio and some hand written stuff.
as they had a hard rock in rio i thought this would have been nice.i asked what i thought was a reasonable price but they said it was too much and this was when they paid £48,000 for the geri halliwell union jack dress.
i may have been a bit harsh on geri but i told them freddie was an icon and would out live any of the spice girls and it would not be long before people said geri...who?
I don't know about the shrine in Washington DC but I DID snap two photos of a pair a Freddie's red leather pants from The Game tours. It was right next to Gene Simmon's bat costume from the Love Gun tour. I should find that photo of Freddie and post it.
In a place called Bayside in Miami Southbeach theres a hard rock cafe... they have a golden record for the album sales in canada... from queen s/t to hot space... its interesting... one of the greatest moments of my life was to see that...
i think i have a picture of that...
I have not seen anything in the Atlantic City, NJ HRC. Also nothing in the Philadelphia, PA HRC. But the AC restaurant does have a giant quilt made out of womens undergarments thrown onstage during a Frank Zappa US tour of the late 70's. It's actually kinda cool.
I work at the Hard Rock in Barcelona and sadly we only have a framed T-Shirt signed by Brian and Roger for the opening of the Cafe in late 1997, this year it is planned to change the memorabilia so hopefully we will get something more exciting!

You shoudl go to the munich harrock cafe straight in front of teh HofBrauhaus. They got a wall full of LP's and even Freddie's original Earls Court suite.
I'm gonna celebrate my birthday there this year.
David - I meant "Used to" as is "It did the last time I was there in 1997"
So it could still be there - from memory it was near the entrance, on the left hand side of the entrance?
If anyone's in London they could confirm it, but since I'm in Auckland, New Zealand, it's a bit far for me to go.
The strat in Ottawa is just a guitar that Brian signed and has been there since the opening of the restaurant about 10 years ago. I remember being really excited about seeing it there the first time I walked in. A couple of years ago they added a bunch of pictures and album sleeves to this restaurant which is really cool.
I've been to a lot of hard rock cafes and so far I have to say the one in Munich is the best as someone already mentioned. Madrid also has some nice pictures and other memorabilia.
