Now, even though I say it myself, this is brilliant!! link
I ripped the individual tracks from the DVD-A with DVD Audio Extractor, which gave me a 99% isolated Freddie vocal track to play with, plus a near perfect 'vocal removed' version. I say near perfect, because you can still hear the vocal reverb in the background, so not good enough to do a complete instrumental version.
Please let me know what you think! :)
Yes, a masterpiece!
It´s in it´s soundquality near to the new version of Teo Torriate. But yours is better. It´s got a new own style.
What are your following plans?? Are some requests or suggestions allowed???
I´m a real fan of your mixes, they sound like official versions and there´s already the first "Digital Fickle Sampler" in my car....
Please take a couple days off and finish your first album (3 disc set,haha....)
Lol!! Thanks Jackie! :)
There's only a few songs which my abilities (and software) extend to, which are those where there is already more than one version to work from, or I can occasionally do things with split channels (i.e. Who Needs You), but they are rarely isolated enough not to hear the other channel in the background, which kind of spoils the effect. Now I can dissect DVD-As, there may be some possibilities therein, but Play The Game is an exception, in that not many have the vocal track isolated to the centre channel. By all means make a request, but no promises!
Hopefully some of the others who have downloaded this will also make a comment - it's always nice to receive feedback, or suggestions.
I´m a friend of different versions of "unknown" or album tracks. I don´t want to listen to remix no. 463 of Radio Gaga, We Will Rock You or ABTD......
A few ideas:
- Headlong (edited "single mix" with some sound gimmicks like you did on Hammer To Fall, also using the video version bonus riff). Unfortunately the version FROG did is very very unprofessional...
- Rain Must Fall (i think the right person could make an better version of it than our heroes did....)
- Scandal (remember your fantastic Breakthru!!! 4-minute hybrid-edit, a new "single remix")
You see, I´m a friend of the modern Queen songs...I became fan in 1986...
Oh, I wish i could do this on my own, but I found out my english is too bad to understand all the buttons at programs like Cool Edit....shit.
I gave up after 4 hours of trying....
OK....keep trying.....
Perhaps one morning I wake up and there´s a Frickle Mix of one of the songs above...
You might wake up one morning and find there's a Fickle Mix of Sail Sway Sweet Sister! ;)
I thought about doing Scandal. It's not one of my favourite tracks, neither is Rain Must Fall. I have to say, I prefer the earlier Queen. Headlong might be worth a play with though. I did some bits with Innuendo, but it was only sound effects - nothing spectacular.
I just wanted to add that I downloaded this a while ago and it is, indeed, awesome! Love the part where you would think the guitar solo is about to kick in, and it just goes to the piano, bass, and drums.....excellent stuff!!!
Not bad at all. But I'm not a fan of the opening part with the big FX on vocals.
The first guitar solo was a little too high and hurt my ears a bit.
Liked the re-arrangement idea with the solo. Also liked the processing of the vocal in the "my game of love has just begun.." bit.
Ending's not as smooth as it could be, i.e. the fade out doesn't fade out fully. Apart from that it's cool.
Overall, it's almost in line with your other edits. But some subtlety would have helped in certain areas mentioned above. Still a cool mix though.
Peace,
Adam.
You can't always satisfy everyone's tastes, and your opinion is always valid, Adam. I thought the vocal effects added a certain 'dreamyness' to the opening verse, fitting with the 'open up your mind and let me step inside' line.
I knew about the cut off fade, but wasn't sure why it happened. As it was only one or two seconds, I couldn't be arsed to correct it! :)
can somebody post that mix again please!!!
also how about doing a cool dance mix of scandal 12ins version maybe on the lines of the new york mix or i want to break free(white label mix)
shit i wanna hear this play the game mix after the positive reviews,
cheers fellas
