In the Summer 2005 edition of Korg magazine (for keyboard players) there is an interview with Spike Edney, recorded at Bray Studios at the pre-tour rehearsals, in which he says that they are playing at Madison Square Gardens in September.
Looks like the US tour has been booked for a while, but they just wanted to see the reaction to the European Leg first before making it public?

D'OH!!!! Sounds like Spikey's got some 'splaining to do . . .
Also . . . re: Madison Square Garden (MSG) or anywhere else in North America . . . I'm not counting on anything until it's official. A few weeks ago a North American tour seemed all but a done deal ("you'll be hearing from us soon") but within the last few days, comments are along the lines of "I wonder if we'll ever do this again . . . " (paraphrases, not a quotes)
Yes, I thought that was odd, too...By now I thought we would have heard something. I also noticed Brian's comment. Let's hope for the best...I'd love to see them several more times!!
See I was thinking they'd wait until most of the tour was complete (like the time between now with no concerts until the last ones in July) to make an announcement if one was to be made because of the lull in action...so I guess we just wait and see now...
Yes....why haven't we heard yet??...I'd be delighted if they play Madison Square but think it may just be a rumour.....of course it'd be pretty cruel to get us all hyped for nothing so I tend to think they'll do something over here......would hate for this to end at Hyde Park and the place in Holland....
being from ny i'm obviously excited, but like all of you mentioned, it's not official, not getting my hopes up? well, it's to late for that, if it happens i can't wait, even though the great man won't be there, it will still be a great show and will put queen's name back in the spotlight.
Erin,
Just seen the picture on your profile - it's the funniest thing I have seen for ages! It completely sums up the malaise the band hed goten into before the +PR thing.
Brilliant!

I have to wonder about the "staying power" of PR's voice. If the group already has to take it easy as far as the schedule goes to save Paul's voice and he isn't even on stage for portions of the show, will his voice be in any shape after the European tour to tackle a U.S. tour of any consequence? Maybe a one off at MSG or a run of two or three shows there. More likely a short run of some of the bigger markets. (NY, Chicago, L.A.) I wonder if any west coast shows would steal some of the thunder from WWRY-Vegas?
I think they are waiting to annouce or have tickets go on sale because Paul MCcartney and the Stones just annouced september/october dates and the tickets are on sale now. Letting the dust settle a few more weeks might allow fans to have addtional $$ to go the QPR shows and have any tour annoucement stand on it's own- not so close to the Stones annoucement.
I was in Dublin..the last night of a long tour and Pauls voince sounded bloody miraculous to me.
He was _ill_ during the middle part..I'm sure he'll be fine for any US dates.
If MSG is at the weekend I'll see you down the front!
