Wow what a night. My fourth show (Brixton, Birmingham & Cardiff) and easily the best. Didn't think it would be sold out but it certainly looked it and the crowd were electric. Brian and Paul commented on the reception they recieved. We got everything, 'Fire & Water', 'Pressure','Bites the Dust', Brian included 'Molly Malone' in his guitar solo. They played for 2hrs 40mins and they rocked this little island of ours. A great night to finish what has been a wonderful tour, Brian even said it might not be their last tour so fingers crossed. How I wish I was going to Hyde Park, |

Hi Linda, yeah and I think we should mention Spike, Jamie and Danny who were outstanding last night, especially Danny who rocked the house. They all looked as if they were really enjoying themselves and that transferred to the audience. Can't wait to see if anybody recorded it, fingers crossed |

Yeah It was great. Just come home from my 24 hrs dublin. It was my first standing concert, the other I had a sitting place. And it was overwelming so great. Everybody was enjoying themselfs even the guys who were handeling the big spots on stage. Absolutly no regrets with my last minute decision to go to dublin. |
DrumBrother 15.05.2005 16:48 |
Those guys on the spotlights had a blast last night. Do you remember the blonde guy on the balcony who got the crowd going, he was better than support band would have been. He set the tone for the night |
after_Delilah 15.05.2005 19:10 |
Yeah I remember this guy, he indeed set the tone for the night. He had the excellent idea to start the wave and got everybody warmed up. He was the support act! |

yah that lad was a legend. His air guitar was mighty impressive. The gig was an amazing experience, i was right in front of May. I cant believe it myself. |

Linda of the Valley just saw your post in the other thread, I dunno who threw the wig up there, I'm only 5'2" so I couldn't see everything!I didn't even see Paul come out I just heard the singing and next thing he just appeared on the stage like out of nowhere!! When Rog was walking away with the wig on we all shouted Roger on our side of the stage and he turned to face us and waved laughing! It was very emotional at times I'd love to be going to Hyde Park. That was just the best concert ever-pure legends :-) |

It was brilliant! The guy in the audience getting the crowd going was hilarious! I thought Queen and Paul Rodgers were great (even though Another One Bites the Dust was a bit sloppy in my opinion), they were visibly enjoying themselves. Roger is a better musician than he has ever been if you ask me. Great night, great band, great crowd! |

Agree about the guy in the balcony. A superb way to get things going, and the Mexican Wave was brilliant. I was delighted that the crowd were so up for it, even before the house lights went down. The only thing missing was the Lap of the Gods chant that pre-empted Brian's appearance in the Point on the Back to the Light tour, but on that occasion, the Point was (regrettably) half-empty, so there was no comparison between the two shows. Rodgers was in fine form, and the crowd seemed to appreciate him as much as they did Brian and Roger, not viewing him as a pretender to the throne, but as an essential part of an alternative way to present Queen music live. Although '39 and Love of My Life were magnificent, the undisputed highlight for me was I'm In Love With My Car. The opening "ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-aahh" was like the last thirty years never happened, and Roger's playing was brilliant all night. I had been cynical about this tour when it was announced, but I knew I'd regret it if I didn't go, and any criticisms I initially had I take back. Superb. |

the gig was brilliant. i thought the molly malone was a nice touch. i hope they come back next year. on brians website brian said he couldnt wait to come to "glorious Ireland" and that they always had great support from the Irish. i loved the show so much i wish it didnt end!!!!!!!!!!!!!! brian and roger were on FIRE!!!! paul was brilliant and so was jamie and danny!!! |

I saw Queen at the start of the tour in Paris and also at home in Dublin. It was interesting to note the differnces between the two shows at either end of the tour. The Paris crowd were much more up for it than the Dublin crowd but our friend in the seats soon sorted that out...he was the dogs hairy bits!!! The set list in Dublin was (I think) the longest on the tour....only Little Bit Of Love and Seagull were excluded from the original list and we got about 5-6 more songs....Another one bites the dust, under pressure, say it ain't true, fire and water, wishing well, drum solo. I was in the seats as my wife is expecting our first sprog in October....imagine having been at 2 Queen gigs before you are even born...great start to life!! Seats are a pisser at a Queen show...we were in the 1st row and were not allowed to stand so you lose out that way but what a gig!!! Roger is "THE MAN" of the tour, singing, drumming, singing and drumming and his voice just gets better all the time. I was glad to see him don the blonde wig at the end.....is this his first time wearing one since the "i want to break free" video?!......I DOUBT IT!!! Go away slowly guys and come back to Dublin quickly....with Paul and Spike IN the group...they have earned their stripes. We will never forget you Freddie. |

What a bloody amazing show!! Being sceptic about *anyone* replacing Freddie, I have to say that Paul Rodgers did an outstanding job. The tone was set for the night by the guy doing the air guitar in the balcony before the gig and then the spontaneous Mexican wave around the venue. It seemed then like it might be a special night and it certainly was!! The crowd were *really* up for it and there was an amazing and positive atmosphere. The crowd sang along with almost every song which seemed to visibly affect the band. It was great to see a full house despite the misgivings of some who reckoned that might not be the case. Everyone I spoke to afterwards were blown away by it. Queen know how to rock and playing for almost 2 1/2 hours showed it. The band were relaxed and in great form - even Brian apparently forgetting the words during '39 and picking up again added to the whole feel-good atmosphere of the gig. A fantastic show. Surely it was among the best, if not the best gigs of the tour. What a night! |

... I was there too and I still can't find the words to begin to describe it: I thought Rome was wonderful but Dublin really went beyond imagination ... ... one of the best nights in my life, and I'll be forever grateful to everybody who made it happen ... -- Gnomo |

Best gig ever! I had to pinch my self every now and again just to be sure I wasn't dreaming. Never in my life imagined i'd get to go to a queen concert! Paul Rogers was really good, i was very impressed with the clarity of his voice. Brain Mays guitar solo was breath taking! Loved the drum solo too! Whole night was fantastic! |

Been to Brixton Cardiff and Birmingham but Dublin was the best i have seen. Band seemed really relaxed and the crowd were well up for it. There were some memorable moments: -Brian looked like he was crying at end of LOML --Before 39 the crowd kept chanting "Brian"...he said "it is hard to appreciate how good it fells to play to a crowd like ye...ye give me the strength to believe i can do anything. Its the end of the tour now but i dont think it wil be our last" -At the front of the cat walk there was two guys in their 20.s who kept throwing knickers at Roger. Just before say its not true he picked one up and said "ill keep that for later" . The same guys threw a blonde wig to him as the band took their bow at the end of the show and he put it on..the whole place was in stitches...Brian took a photo of this as he left the stage..see : link -Brian played a two minute segment of MOlly Malone in his guitar solo. I thougt it was an excerpt from love of my life but apparently it was Molly Malone -They played a stunning version of Say its not true...but Roger forgot to run with the condom line so he got showered with condoms as he walked back towards the stage much to the crowds amusement -One Roger Taylor chant rose rom the crowd just before say its not true..and he seemed genuinely touched -Brian forgot the bridge between verse one and 2 of 39..and he just laughs and says "problem is ye guys know the songs better than i do" What a show...thank you Paul Brian Roger...roll on Hyde Park |

Hi NATO, I saw all the same shows as you. A couple of Cork guys on tour eh??? Was it just me or did Danny rock the house the other night. I also think that as Queen fans we are all very lucky that it was Paul Rodgers who toured and not some Freddie wannabe (you all know who I mean). I'm lucky in that I've been a fan of Paul's for years though I had never seen him live. He really did bring something different to all those wonderful Queen songs, and his own material speaks for itself. Unfortunately I can not make Hyde Park but fingers crossed for a return tour, after all they never went to Scotland |

Have you actually listened to this guy's bass lines? Flawless..... |

Best gig i have ever been to. It was just brilliant. Brian May was.......cant even describle how good he was on the giutler. its never going to be the same without freddie but if you go expecting Paul Rodgers to be like Feddie then you will be disappointed. I'm not saying paul was disappointing, he wasnt. i thought he was brilliant and has one hell of a voice. I was disappointed they didnt sing Dont stop me now. You see so called "super-stars" like Madonna charging €100-130 for tickets where she will lip sink for an hour and go home. i paid €65 for my ticket and it was worth every penny. value for money and extremly entertaining. The guy on the stand was brilliant. he was just pretending to do the solo but then everyone started cheering him and he couldnt stop....brilliant. just want the crowd need. since there wasnt a support group. Brian May hinted they might do another tour......****ing hope so. I thought Radio Ga Ga and Under Pressure were the best songs preformed on the night. |
DrumBrother 16.05.2005 18:13 |
Danny's like the cat that got the cream, it's like 'look at me I'm playing bass for Queen'. The guy looks as if he's enjoying every minute of it. |
anato 16.05.2005 18:36 |
Yip two Cork Queen fans on tour...bet all your friends think you are nuts as well : ) Danny was superb...but honestly Roger Taylor on drums was unreal...what a legend |

They know me by now. These few months have been great, especially with the net. I saw Queen twice in '84 and twice in'86 and I can remember checking all the newspapers every day for a little scrap of info about those tours. Now we have the setlist an hour after the show ends, downloads the following day, photos and Forums. How times change. |

Hi GUYS I havent been around the forum in ages due to being very ill and in Hospital for a few days only back to work today,i posted last time about being in a car crash well it seems my luck hasn't changed and i was in hospital on Friday and nearly missed the gig on Sat night. But nothing was going to stop me going to what was the most amazing concert i've been to.I had great seats right at the front balcony overlooking the stage and have some amazing photo's(which i will try to post dont really know how to), though i forgot to get new batteries and my camera wouldn't turn on for ages, so i took the batteries and rubbed them in my hands for 20mins and by some divine intervention that worked and i have a great one of Roger in the Blonde wig that a guy in the audience threw up on stage and an amazing one of Brian at the end of the runway when the big glitter ball was shining it's so pretty!!.Couldnt believe how close the guys with standing tickets could get to the stage. Paul Rogers was in great form and even though Brian forgot the words to 39 he was in excellent voice. The whole band were amazing and really got involved with the audience and looked like they were having lots of fun. I cant really describe it in words so i'm not going to try i just cant wait to see them again. xx aisha xx |
