I'm going to be ignorant and ignore everything else apart from Championship playoffs and Premiership relegation. Predictions? Relegation. I think Norwich will win, so they will stay up. I think all the teams have a great chance of winning though. If only they hit this form earlier on. Please please Blackburn get relegated next season. They are fucking awful. Promotion. I reckon it will be West Ham, it's always the team that shouldn't have even got to the playoffs that win it. Derby are looking good to. Without forgetting Preston. Do you think you have a chance Banquo? Next season. Lee Clarke of St Albans to be snapped up by a better club. He's the best forward I've seen playing week in week out at non-league level since Stan the man. |
Taylor-Mayed 14.05.2005 08:51 |
Living in Norwich, it's been madness all week - the local newspapers are full of pictures of idiots in their 'lucky underpants' and so forth. I agree that Norwich have the best chance (despite not having won away all season!) but if I had to nail my colours to the mast I'd like to see Southampton stay up. South coast solidarity, I suppose! I'm just relieved the Albion managed to stay in the Championship, which for a club on our budget with our Mickey Mouse excuse for a ground is a pretty good achievement, I think. |
Banquo 14.05.2005 10:22 |
Very nervous for tomorrow but I think we are better equipped than we were in 2001. Again we are the outsiders but we don't care. Its a blow that two left-wingers are out in Eddie Lewis and Callum Davidson which will mean we will have to play narrow which doesn't really suit us. Anyway I can't see any of the other teams causing any problems as we have beaten them all this season apart from Ipswich which we drew with at Deepdale. It will be ace to go up (just to shut up Wigan) to get all the money from Sky and sponsorship but I can't see us staying there. Wish we had a more ambitious Chairman. Ah well. |
brENsKi 14.05.2005 10:34 |
i would like to West brom escape - because theirs is the bigger task to go to the last day of the season with all three spots untaken is incredible as for play-offs - derby would be nice, because they've tried to play nice football ...also it will seal two automatic relegation spots for next season - which takes the strain off everyone else blunderland and derby relegated next time - with blackburn - that would be great |
Banquo 14.05.2005 10:34 |
Oh yeah I hope Norwich go down. Deilia Smith really, really winds me up I don't why she just does. |
rachael mae. 14.05.2005 10:36 |
Hmm.. despite the fact I live in Norwich, I couldn't care less whether they go up or down... ;) |
Bob The Shrek 14.05.2005 11:32 |
I want to see Norwich, Southampton & Palace go down. Now, how did my team get on ;-) |

Please let saints go down - here on the south coast all the media do is go on and on about Southampton . Southampton = scummers . AFC Bournemouth - "Boscombe back of the net !!!!!!!!!!!" - Repeat 20 X . We only missed the play-off's by two points because of fucking Hartlepool . This time next year we're in the championship ! |
Bohardy 14.05.2005 12:42 |
Don't forget Spurs to grab the final Uefa Cup place, with our 4-0 win against Blackburn, and Man City's 2-1 win against Middlesbrough. |

West Ham need to goes up - Mr Roger Taylor would be happy at least... |
Mrs.Taylor 14.05.2005 17:13 |
Sheffield Wednesday to beat Hartlepool in the League One Play-Off Final (based on them both winning the first legs of their respective semis) then hopefully we can stuff the Blades in the Championship twice next season and regain our rightful place as the top team in Sheffield :D And as an added bonus we get to stuff Leeds United as well. |

Come on The Saints !!!!! |

But AFCB won last 6 out of 7 away games on the trot - a club record ! - Go man U on sunday ! Harry and Jim your going down ! LMAO |

Well We'll see tomorrow my fine blood sucking friend. It's going to be a long day !! Edit: Hey Dracula, if you're a local, the C&W song titles thread I just put up was from the back of the Bournemouth Evening Echo Magazine. |

Here we go. Just leaving so come on Preston. Jumpers for goalposts, Preston Plumber, Invincibles, 1938 cup final, Plastic pitch, butter pies................................................ |
Taylor-Mayed 15.05.2005 06:18 |
My God, if the Budgies do stay up, I dread to think how many times the phrase "Let's be 'avin you!" will be seen all over the city this week... |

Teo_torriate04 - I'm in Bournemouth - where are you from ? - I went to uni in Southampton - at the time there was a lot of graffiti , in Southampton " Le God for England" ......what has happened to Fat Matt ? |
Banquo 15.05.2005 10:16 |
Yes, a good win and nice to take to Derby on Thursday. |
Penetration_Guru 15.05.2005 15:04 |
Good prediction skills.... Personally, I'm glad to see the back of Southampton. Beat us too many times for my liking, and always got all giddy about it. Also glad to see Robbo delivering the goods. Coincidentally that also means goodvye to the Palace dickheads & the Norwich farmboys (to be replaced by the equally pointless Ipswich equivalent, no doubt). All in all, a good day, |
eggy 15.05.2005 15:33 |
Well, I don't think I'll be getting a job as a pundit. Can't believe West Brom stayed up, really thought Palace would have kept hold of their lead. |
Banquo 15.05.2005 15:38 |
I quite fancied going to Palace next year. Ah well Old Trafford, Anfield and Stamford Bridge will make up for it I suppose. I'm a bit pissed so my hopes are high at this moment. |
Bob The Shrek 15.05.2005 17:10 |
My application to join Match of The Day for next season is already in the post :-) |
Taylor-Mayed 16.05.2005 08:20 |
Fuck me, West Bromwich Albion made it! Bloody hell. And six nil to Fulham over Norwich! I shouldn't laugh, I suppose... Was in a shop buying a paper this morning and the locals were grumbling about it. |
eggy 19.05.2005 19:04 |
Expecting an ever drunker Banquo soon! Least I got West Ham right. Best of luck in Cardiff Banquo!! |
Bob The Shrek 19.05.2005 19:06 |
Listened to the game on 5 Live. Didn't sound like the best game of football ever but I don't suppose Banquo will give a damn about that! Well done Banquo - will you be going to Cardiff? |
wstüssyb 20.05.2005 00:18 |
Pistons won tonight =) |
Banquo 20.05.2005 05:26 |
Oh What a night! Didn't go couldn't get a ticket but as for Cardiff hopefully I'll be able to get a ticket. So, so glad I booked today off work I was a bit merry last night. And unlike 2001 I think we have a very good chance of winning the final. We have already beaten West Ham twice this season so we'll have the edge. If you'd have asked me in August with 'Cuddly' Craig Brown in charge whether we could make the top half nevermind the play-offs I would have laughed my head off. But now Billy Davies is the man what a great season for someone who got sacked after about 5 games with Motherwell. Isn't football great? |
Bob The Shrek 20.05.2005 05:49 |
Have PNE got a few quid saved up for Billy Boy to strengthen the squad in the summer? Nothing worse than going straight back down again. |
Taylor-Mayed 20.05.2005 07:45 |
Well done Banquo, and good luck in the final! :-) |
Banquo 20.05.2005 10:16 |
If we do go up Bob the first priority according to the board is to finish off rebuilding the stadium. So then all four sides will be brand spanking new. As for players we will need to get a few new players in but we are very tight in transfer funds. Not such a bad thing as David Nugent only cost us £100,000 in January now worth at least £1.5 million according to Everton (hands off!) If we do go up I can see us coming straight back down again. |
eggy 22.05.2005 06:52 |
One year has to be better than none. I really hope you beat West Ham. They should be doing so much better than scrapping a play-off place with the team they have. |
Penetration_Guru 22.05.2005 16:11 |
I'm quite happy to see Preston come up, as long as their supporters don't get too giddy a la Bolton. (present company not anticipated to exhibit such behaviour, but hopefully you know what I mean). |
Banquo 22.05.2005 16:24 |
I don't think there's any chance of becoming anti-Man Utd because of our near elevation. There's T'Rovers, Wigan and Bolton between us and Manchester. Besides we hate City more. I'm sure Jon Macken will get a good reception at Deepale! And congratulations to David Healy for leaving us to go to a 'massive' club Leeds Utd. Ha, Ha. Bet you feel silly now don't you. |
eggy 22.05.2005 18:49 |
If Macken is still there, he is behind David James in the pecking order for strikers now! |
Penetration_Guru 23.05.2005 14:01 |
Nice one, eggy. Why do Preston hate City at all? |
Banquo 23.05.2005 14:21 |
Because of City's disdain at coming down to the old Divison 2 a few years back. They thought they were too 'massive' (that word again) to play in our league. We went to Maine Road and won 1-0 early in the season. You'll find most teams down there then don't like them. Besides we'll always hate Blackpool more than Utd. |
Banquo 30.05.2005 03:53 |
Well here we go. Didn't get a ticket, my friend ambled to Deepdale at the speed of a snail on crutches. He turned up at Deepdale last Tuesday at 10.00am expecting to get 6 tickets. But everytime I've watched PNE in a play-off final they have been beaten, Bolton 2001 and Wycombe 1994. So I'm just going to find a pub with a bit of atmosphere, have a few beers and hope to God we win. |
Banquo 30.05.2005 12:31 |
Gutted. So gutted. We have played much better than that throughout the season trust me. We did not peform today West Ham did (sort of) so they, I suppose, deserve it. Fucking hell stil gutted though. |
Penetration_Guru 30.05.2005 15:11 |
Damn. Fuxking West Ham again... |
Mrs.Taylor 30.05.2005 16:47 |
Hi Ho Sheffield Wednesday!!! We even made the front and back splash of the Daily Mirror :O |
