Seriously though, did i just dream it? cos iv heard bugga all since the gig, or heard nowt from it! no audio, no comments on Brian Mays site, nothing! was this another dream shattered? did i miss a day of my life dreaming about seeing Queen at a gig? whats going on? im really confused!
I just got off the phone with Brian and he told me the Newcastle gig was the greatest show he's ever been a part of. He told me he didn't mention it in his soapbox because he didn't want the other cities
to feel jealous.
@Knute: Wishful thinking :)
I know what you mean though TaylorGaga. Being only 20, I never had the chance to see Queen (as they were: + Freddie & John) seeing how I was only six years old in 1991.
Even though Newcastle was only a week and a bit ago, it feels like years :(
Still, the best damned night of my life. It was the first as so far only 'Queen' gig i've ever seen and despite spending about £200 on tickets and so forth - I just don't care. To me the whole experience was priceless.
...And will be for a long time....
Can't listen to Love of My Life without crying now....

It feels like years, aah, such damn great concert!! I'm still shocked after the gig, but the memories are getting clearer. As said before, the audio will come. Some video also exicts, but not sure if it will be shared at Queenzone for some time.
It's a funny thing really. I was discussing this with my dad last night who went to see Queen when they were the SUPPORT band for Mott the Hoople in the 70's at Newcastle City Hall.
He did say he was a bit apprehensive because Freddie was just brilliant back then, Brian used to play solos throughout Fred's costume changes and so on. And Freddie was without a doubt the star of the show.
Now, I don't doubt this for a second, I would have given anything to have seen Freddie Mercury. Literally.
This goes out to anyone who's seen the Q+PR gigs - I still think Paul Rodgers was bloody amazing even for the relatively short time he was on stage, Roger Taylor was fantastic, Brian May was unbelievable - all totally exceeding any expectations I had of them.
My dad says it was easily one the best shows he's been to. Not as good as with wor' Fred, but definetley 'worthy'.
To all of you who didn't get tickets for this tour because you you say it wasn't 'Queen'.... Sucks to you.
Sorry.
ga ga you have a point mate, it is like it never happened, i aint seen any reviews or any sort of coverage of the event either!
reckon ill ask Mike Neville hes bound to know lol!
If you want some mementos of the show, go to QueenOnline's forum...There's a page for tour photos, and there are literally dozens on that page of the Newcastle show.
Hope this helps,
Greg
i am now taking bets on how long it takes for some twat to appear in this thread writing "no queen didnt play in Newcastle...Queen RIP 1991"lol....very short odds i think!!
Maybes when Brian said that he wanted the night to be just for the people there, every person who was making video and audio recordings deleted what they had recorded up until then and didn't recored anymore. As they agreed and felt so guilty.
