Many people must have noticed the similarites between Queen and Led Zeppelin. Here's a few:
Both made up of four musicians which never changed (not including the bassists before John obviously).
Both bands finished (if we discount this current tour with only half the band) after the death of a member.
Both were known to be outstanding live acts with wild parties accompanying them on tour.
Both had outstanding lead guitarists and flamboyant singers with fantastic voices.
Both Freddie and John Bonham died in effect as a result of living their life to the full and having a good time.
Both had brillant but quiet bassists who appeared to be in the background but in effect were a crucial part of the band, making up half of a superb rhythm section with very powerful drummers.
They certanly don't make bands like they used to.

Bonham died because he slept the wrong way. Anyone who drank even the smallest bit of alcohol could die if that happens. But I see what you mean. And they definatly don't make them like they used to.
Anyone heard the new Robert Plant album? It's great!
John Lydon wrote: They also don't make albums like that anymore!!
Anyone else agree that Led Zeppelin 4 is one of the greatest albums ever made, with Innuendo and ANATO.
The other similarity is that both bands made their breakthrough with the fourth album.
Led Zeppelin 4: Stairway To Heaven
ANATO: Bohemian Rhapsody
And they wrote some fantastic songs too, and great albums. Led Zeppelin and Queen are my favourite bands, Queen first, obviously. John.
I alsways preferred Led Zeppelin I and II...
But I prefer Queen II over ANATO too, so... ;-)
They have definitely had similarities with Zep over the years even as recently as the Miracle (Khossoggi's ship) and Innuendo (title track)...Son & Daughter for me was closer to Sabbath/Deep Purple....and Father the Son had definite similarities to The Who....

Another one
_ Both band put out albums of material done slightly previous member death
Made In Heaven - Queen
Coda - Led Zep
and another
Both Band saw 2 of their members getting together for a tour that excluded the original bass player!!
hey mr Lydon.... totally agree...
i think im gonna die tryin' to decide between ANATO and INNUENDO... but at this point of my life I guess my favorite album of all time is innuendo... its perfect...
something similar between queen and zep... both bands made comback tours with only half the band...:
1994- Robert Plant & Jimmy Page
2005- Queen: Brian May & Roger Taylor
sorry, someone said that before me...
none of this bands born from nothing... both bands evolved from previous bands... from really talented previous bands with diferent singers...
"smile" to queen
"yardbirds" to zep
Both had drummers who penned 'automotive' songs in 1975, with many sexual innuendoes included
('Car', Trampled Underfoot)

You forgot one thing...
Both of them are absoloutly FANTASTIC !!!!!!
Well... I think Queen II is so similar to Led Zeppelin. At least to the three led zep albums I got. (led zeppelin I, II, III)
If I would form a band.. then I would try to have the members all the time.. not change like a lot of bands do. That's so confusing !
