Dunno if this subject has already been on spotlight on this forum but I was just wondering where that idea came from to play "Lose Yourself" as an intro ? Perhaps Brian's idea?
I accept that disco version of "It's A Beautiful Day" but Eminem sounds to weird to me and somehow I quess I'm not the only one :D
"Invincible Hope" would be the best intro IMO.
What do you think about it, folks?
I kinda... like it... Especially when Brian plays few power chords on top... It kinda works... :)
Dunno- love the begining- Eminem / Reaching Out / TYMD... Awesome, although I would kill for fast WWRY
re: One Vision -
My own opinion - I think that song was good as an intro for the 1986 tour, just as the Flash Theme was good for the Hot Space tour etc.
But I think each tour should have their own unique intro. Why replicate something that was a success, when you can do something new and also have it be just as good (and dare I say, possibly 'better').
So - I think their latest idea for the Eminem intro (i.e. modern day hits) is a good one.
But that's just my 2 cents
For what it's worth.
Cheerzzz
Yes, I want a surprising intro.
And Eminem WAS a surprise.
I was really disappointed in Brixton with this intro but then got used to it and now it's actually my favourite part of the show!
Eminem is one of those artists that MTV and radios play far too many times. I would rather have "Procession" or "One Vision" as intros. In my modest opinion.
procession wouldn't work now. So wouldn't One Vision- never liked it as an opening anyway. WWRY fast- that would work... I was actually hoping taht maybe Was It all Worth It, little tape on the begining and than the riff... Or Beautiful Day segued with Made In Heaven...
But I do like it, although as Martin said- I had a problem with that on the begining. 3rd / 4th gig- I already loved it :)
The problem lies herein: some Queen fans, and a lot I see on here, do not like Eminem - actually - hate Eminem. Obviously, this is a fair representation for those of a close minded nature who think rap and the like is a waste of time. I've said before recently, just becuase YOU hate something, doesn't mean it IS crap. Eminem, in fact, im my honest opinion, is a genious at what he does. A white man doing rap better than 95% of the others, and he brings a bit of fun about it. Doesn't take himself seriously, and likes to get a rise out of others becuase it is funny. I think Brian admires this, and the fact that, despite what others think, he's a decent guy. And I know Rog listens to Eminem too.
Just lighten up... I think it gets the croud pumping, and when Brian plays over the top of it, quality!
Finally Track 13 has a purpose, hurrah for that!!
The best intro I've ever seen to anything is the version of Innuendo that begins the musical.
I think Queen + Paul Rodgers are quite clever in that they go with quite a low key opening to the show. I guess the big moment comes when the curtain comes crashin down during the opening riff of Tie Your Mother Down...........
Belfast gig tomorrow, bring it on!!
I liked Eminem, it sounded huge, especially with Brian ending it, smashing it down with his guitar. That was THE moment! The beautiful day remix was ok, could be better, could be worse. A bit too much dancefloor anno 1993. Reaching out was also nice, but after TYMD, or even better before, there should be another fast rocker: WWRY fast for example.
Lose Yourself is great. It was really a surprise for me, but it works, it builds the atmosphere and when Brian plays some chords on top of it...great stuff
