I think Jazz is a great album for drummers. It has some very difficult songs like BR, DOT and MOTJ to play along with. There are also some good rockers on this album like FBG and IYCBTYT. Songs like J, IOSW and LHAE show how flexible and musical he was as a drummer. I really think the jazz album/tour was the highlight.
What would you answer to this question ?
NOTW or Sheer Heart Attack seem to me to be the ones that have his best sound so far.
As for composing, head for Electric Fire or MBADTK or Blue Rock from The Cross.
