Hello,
I know no traditionally no one can replace our Freddie, But my dad thinks as we have to move on in the world of music, George Michael can almost replace Freddie, i think this is fairly reaosnable, anyone else comments?
I don't think Queen will be moving on in the world of music, I think they're pretty much done.
The 2005 seems like a farewell to me.
Brian and Roger are getting older, they've implied they won't be touring again.. Apart from maybe the odd reunion show here and there I think Queen is more or less over.
They'll live on in the existing albums, videos, etc, but I don't think they'll be any real new Queen stuff so a replacement isn't really an issue.
If you're talking hypothetically though, George Michael was okay but it didn't really do anything for me. Robbie was his normal overrated self. Will Young doing Champions was just a joke. They got the guy with the least powerful voice in history to sing a song like that.. just compare it with the Paul Rodgers version!
Paul is in my opinion the best replacement but as Brian has said he's not really a replacement. He's not actually in Queen, it's Queen PLUS Paul Rodgers.
George Michael did an excellent job with the songs at the tribute, but I don't think he would be able to handle all the Queen stuff - in particular the more rocking stuff. STL rocked at the tribute, but the gospel aspect of it meant GM could really get stuck in. Could you imagine him singing IWIA or HTF? Or FBG?

I agree.
All the bluesy style songs GM would make a brilliant job off, but his voice is too mellow for the rockier, faster songs.
