Hi there
Going to Dublin next week, REALLY wanna meet Bri and RT,anybody goot any tips on meeting them?I know they're playing Belfast the night before so maybe just set up some sort of road block on the Dub-Belfast road!!
Seriously though, just hang around the venue b4hand and hope to get lucky??
Thanks
Brian
For all previous (solo-) tours I would have had loads of tips.
But on this tour... just forget about it!
It's pretty obvious Brian and Roger do not feel like meeting people (unless you are extreeeeeemely lucky!)
Catching Paul Rodgers is easy as stampin on kittens, though! ;-)
(After the show!)
Given that Dublin is the end of the Spring Leg of the tour...my bet is they will stay overnight in Dublin...so more than likely The Four Seasons in Ballsbridge about 15 mins by taxi away from the venue...thats were most bands stay....hang around the residents bar if you can get in...and keep your fingers crossed
Met a guy at the Cardiff gig who met brian after the Frankfurt gig in the residents bar of the hotel post gig
Good luck...ill be in Dublin as well so hope it is a good un : )
Not so negative Jeroen! :-)
Indeed Roger speeds away before you know it, but Paul and Brian might be in the mood for a little chat. I've spoken/seen them after the Brixton, Paris and Antwerp gigs. (that's 3 out of 4 so far).
Just keep hanging around the venue I'd say. Of course it's more difficult to catch them at large venues. (in Rotterdam they left before we could leave the building ourselves...)

i think at Newcastle the gig had ended at about 20:40/45pm, and we were still waiting inside for another 5 or so minutes so i think Bri and Rog got away while we were held back!

Come on, now Rien - no need to make it sound more beautifull then it is, either! ;-)
I don't think christeb means how to just 'SEE' the guys!
Think christeb means talk and or photo and or autograph - you won't get 3 out of 4 then! (Talking about Brian and/or Roger that is. And like I said: Paul's no problem. And both you and I know for a fact that even HE drove off without stopping in Antwerpen!)
Small chance to meet Roger but it's not difficult to meet Paul. Or Danny - he's glad that fans recognize him and he's a nice person to talk to.
Four Seasons is a good bet - if you stay in front of the hotel for a couple hours, you'll be successful, no doubt.
The band (I don't know if the whole band was there, but I can ask) appeared on the after-show party in Dortmund (also some guys from the WWRY-musical cast). A friend of mine sent me some pictures with Brian and him on them. A pitty that I didn't go to the party.
Thanks for all the replies guys!
I'm going to the Trinity Ball (a bit notorious if you know Dublin) the night before so I might try and get down to the 4 seasons either before or after the gig.My friend works in the Point and says he can get me in backstage but I'm not sure if Bri will be prancing around back there?
The guys arrive round half past three most of the time (for soundcheck and stuff). The time they leave is different every day. Might be within 5 minutes, might be after five hours...
If you know someone at The Point that can get you backstage, there is only one thing to say: YOU GO GIRL! (even if you're a boy ;-)))
The soundcheck begins at five and I think they arrive only shortly before the soundcheck.
According to some people, in Prague Paul Rodgers left his hotel room - which was NOT close to the arena - at 7.30 (and the concert was supposed to start at 8!)
I waited outside the Hotel Grand in Stockholm at around 4.30 in the afternoon because I had a hunch there would be a soundcheck around that time. There were about 20 fans waiting while the car that was going to whisk him away was parked outside the main door with it's motor running. We really didn't think Bri would stop to sign anything or talk with us, but, him being the gent he is, took the time to sign stuff and left everybody satisfied. My tip to you is hang out at the hotel they're staying at, and hope Brian is in a good mood!!!!
It must take a lot of nerve to be able to face fans. Imagine it - one second you're signing an album and smiling and joking. 5 hours later you get shot by the same guy.
What a world.
Well luckily that was just a one-off!
More artists got killed WITHOUT signing first - think of that then ;-)
Btw, did you know that David Bowie for many many years had this thing in his head, that he every day was afraid to get shot on stage?
You're lucky Linda.
For some reason I have a feeling that Dublin is going to be the consensual best of the tour.
It's just a gut feeling. But I'm going to go with it.
I think Dublin could be one of the worst..i hope im wrong but i have a feeling the place will be half empty..tickets still on general sale on Ticketmaster
