Who is better?? Aerosmith or Kiss?? Why?? |
Leppar 08.05.2005 10:17 |
I would probably say Aerosmith just because i have heard more of their songs. They were alright, nothing special, but kinda ok. "And i don't wannaaaaaaaaa miss a thinggggggggg" |
The Fairy King 08.05.2005 11:23 |
Aerosmith by far! Why? Simple.. > They don't wear ridiculous clothes and make-up.... > Versatile, all Kiss songs sound the same to me. > Steven has more range and is a better frontman. > Great albums |
Knute 08.05.2005 11:48 |
Shit this one ain't even a contest. That first one is so hard that I can't do it. Aerosmith put out one of the best album + followup combinations of the 70's in Toys in the Attic and Rocks. I don't really like them now. I much prefer their drug addled days. Kiss on the other hand were clowns. I've never really liked their music. It always sounded sophmoric and bland to me. Peter Criss is the biggest fraud drummer IMO. He had this humungeous kit that was all for show. His skills weren't much better than Ringo Starr IMO. |

Aerosmith?? Kiss??? I don't know which one is worse... :))) But ok... Aerosmith are kinda cool for doing a song with RUN-D.M.C., and Kiss look funny... so it's really hard to me for make up my mind... so... I vote... for Queen! |

KISS, by far - cool concept, hilarious image, great rock AND pop oriented songs (like Queen), biggest tongue, great drummer (Eric Carr), .... |
Bobby_brown 08.05.2005 14:57 |
None of them, by far!! Take care |

Aerosmith, but only because I haven't heard much from Kiss. Dream On, Janie's Got A Gun, Walk This Way and Mama Kin are all great songs. |

i'm going slight mad... 08.05.2005 17:09 |
aerosmith, they just have better songs. it's simple |

Ravenetta wrote: im talking about the millions of fireworks and lights and stuff. every band has good gimicks, but kiss got excessive, while queen focused on their music and audience interaction. not that kiss didnt interact, but my opinion is taht aerosmith is better. kiss just over did things. queen over did the right things i guess is what im saying..sry kiss fans!you say kiss overdid the lights and stuff? did YOU ever see queen live? the famous Pizza Oven stage rig, and what about the jubilee special from 77? where they had to remove part of the roof at earls court? oh yeah, and the 84 works tour - with moving cogs and metropolis backdrop. and lets not forget the magic lighting rig and the four oversized baloons.... all bands are the same - "the bigger the better, in everything" - that was FREDDIE'S saying |

I don't like either of them. Also, These types of topics should be in the personal section. |
Scott_Mercury 08.05.2005 17:41 |
Yeah... but that section doesn't get nearly as many readers... And really... whats it hurting?? |

Ravenetta wrote: im talking about the millions of fireworks and lights and stuffYeah, when you have SHITTY songs, you have to come up with SOMETHING in front of the audience... |

Aerosmith totally |
Jimmy Dean 08.05.2005 19:33 |
Aerosmith... In terms of song craftmanship, lyrics, sex-appeal, etc... it goes to Aerosmith however, you have to give it to kiss, they were marketing geniuses and made money on really basic rock and roll, with generic song structures, and a lot of makeup. |

Dan- I understand... if Richard wants to move it, he will.. Forum members love these type of polls, and the large number of replies in a very short period of time proves this. If posting this question gets me banned, then I don't need to be here anyway :) Cheers! |

Aerosmith by far |

KISS are now a joke and Aerosmith are a pop band now. Aerosmith died in 2001 after that Super Bowl gig with B*tchney Sneers, N' Stink, Mary J Crackhead Blige and Smelly Nelly! |
Grantcdn 08.05.2005 22:32 |
tough call.....Aerosmith more talented but Kiss had something really neat about them....Kiss were better performers and Aerosmith better players...flip a coin... |
wstüssyb 08.05.2005 22:53 |
Aerosmith, Quite simply the best American Band that lasted past 10 years Kiss was about the $$$, They advertise more then a Hooker on 5th street. |

I don't LOVE Aerosmith, but I like a few of their songs. And still I have some respect for this group. BUT I DEEPLY, DEEPLY HATE KISS I hate their concept - "ok guys, lets put some make up on and silver boots and cosmos costumes, and show our tongues and spit blood and fire and pretend we're still hot. Oh yeah, and let's release an album called "Lick it up" " Um, yeah, that sure helps building yourself a credibility. Not only that, but as someone said it before, all KISS songs sound the same, and I personally think they're way overrated. They're not as original as people say... Lyrically, "I was made for loving you" could have had been written by my seven year old cousin (whose first language is French BTW!). And musically, Kiss songs are still hopelessly ordinary. And finally - KISS means Kings In Service of Satan. "OK dude, let's have this name for our band, so hopefully we can scare a few..." How pathetic. It only makes me laugh. And damage the little of credibility they're trying to build themselves. |

Aerosmith... No any particular reason why, I just have heard more of their songs! |

Aerosmith is definitely WAY BETTER!! Keep in mind that Aerosmith did something that no other band has ever done. They reached superstardom and were a very successful band, but later on differences lead them to a partial break-up, and the band hit the bottom to a point where they couldn't even sell out a fuckin' night club. Eventually the band came back together and became even bigger than they were ever before. Although I like some KISS songs they're still way too overcommercialized. |

Especially after they did that power ballad I Don't Want to Miss a Thing. Then, the 2001 Super Bowl appearance with N' Sync and Britney forever tarnished my image of them. I know Brian and Roger did a UK Pepsi commercial with Britney, Beyonce and Pink but John(bless him that he retired) was nowhere to be found as he has retired to family life. |
Mr.Jingles 09.05.2005 16:14 |
I can understand why to diss Aerosmtih for making an album full of ballads, but they never did. They always stuck to their heavy rock attitude for the most part, and once in a while they had some hit ballads. Which I believe are great songs IMO. Aerosmith's come back didn't make much of an impact on their early days fanbase. Seems like Aerosmith was ready to start again from scratch and try to appeal to a whole new generation instead of doing what they did in their early days. If they wanted to appeal to the older fans, they would have picked Farrah Fawcett over Alicia Silverstone to star on their videos. There's no doubt that Aerosmith wanted to appeal to teenage kids from the 90s who still wanted to rock and were completely fed up with depressing grunge rock. |
