Excellent - thanks PG. I tried to record it with my iRiver mp3 player and the supplied external mic but it was too loud so there's too much distortion on most of it. The quiet songs turned out ok, but the rest was a mess. It's great to have a better sounding version so quickly. What a great night! |

Sully - you haven't heard this yet! There is more distortion visible on the waveform than I expected from listening to it. I bought a new microphone to replace the iriver one - the key is to lower the input level - I used 5 (out of 20) for this. |

I've just listened to a few parts of yours and it sounds a lot clearer. Thank you again for sharing it. I recorded a clip of Last Horizon with my camera - it looks great with the glitter ball, but the sound is awful. It sounds like there are explosions at the end - in fact, with that noise and the lights flying past Brian it looks like some sort of sci-fi action film! When I get chance I'll upload it anyway. |

Isn't it funny how some people freely give flac versions of the concerts they recorded, whilst others give low quality mp3 and want to trade their wav version. Couldn't Penetration Guru have uploaded it at 256mb/s (or 128 even!)if he has a slow connection? I feel sorry for the guy who recorded manchester and sheffield who can't trade his recordings with anyone else as he's given them freely.... Thanks for sharing the concert anyway. |

Sorry, are you grateful or having a whine? I have to admit that I got the idea for the two-tier release (mp3 for free, FLAC for trade) from the conversations on here, but it seemed both fair and logical - those that want sound quality get that, those that want file size (or lack of it) get that, and there's no confusion between the two. Bear in mind, as you wail for those who gave away Manchester, that the only reason you've heard about Cardiff is because it was uploaded - Newcastle & Birmingham are only available to traders, so why not go and use your 38th post to complain about them? |
