Guy's I was in a crash yesterday my car is a right off but i am ok, shook and bruised but ok. My boyfriend was driving going round a bend at 40mph not fast at all...drove over some gravel car spun, couldn't control it and we hit a wall. I have never been so scared in all my life had the whole life flash before your eyes thing...The wall we hit was belonging to a lovely lady who brought us into her house for a cup of tea to calm us down (thankfully we didnt do much damage to her wall). When we calmed down i said to my boyfriend "jokingly" that we'd need to buy a bag of frozen peas to stop any swelling and the lady burst out laughing - 6 months earlier a truck full of frozen pea's came round the same bend and overturned in her garden.. HOW BIZARE...Just thought i'd share my little drama with everyone, gotta go and buy a new bloody car now anyone got a few grand they wanna donate (only kiddin)!!!!
Does anyone have any car crash stories?
xx Aisha xx
I'm so sorry to hear about your crash...I can only imagine how frightening it is...I've experienced the visual of having your "life flash before your eyes" when I almost drowned in the ocean once...
At least you are ok...you are not replaceable, cars are...but I know that doesn't make you feel good about having to replace it at this point! :)
The first car crash I had was when I first got my license at age 16...I was right in front of my high school and my car skidded on black ice but instead of pumping the breaks I slammed them on and spun a few circles...then a fellow student plowed right into the passenger side of the car (thank goodness) and the car was rendered undriveable for a good few weeks until my dad had it fixed for me!
I remember when I was little, I think it was the first grade actually, that my mum was driving me to school and the roads were really slippery and messy. A truck (not a truck truck but those giant trucks that carry cargo and stuff) was coming our way. She slammed on the brakes and we started to slide off the road and the truck hit us (thanks to the breaks, not at full force). I looked out my window and saw that the truck's headlights were smashed. It wasn't nearly as bad as it could've been.
Luckily you're okay!
I, myself have not been in a major accident yet (thanks to whoever's arranged this), but there is a hill not too far from my home. People get in crashes on it all the time. Just the other day there was a toyota truck (the little ones) that had very little damage and a Rav4 completely accordianed (that's not a word :P)and smashed into the wall of earth behind it. Then a little further down the road was a fender bender. And this was just one day! There have been several deaths on it too. Two recent ones were teens. Some people are crazy and should not have liscenses.
One night I stayed over at a friends house because I had partied too much and didnt want to drive.
The next day driving home on the 401 highway I spotted a stoppage over the horizon. I slammed on my brakes and luckily stopped inches before smashing into the traffic jam ahead of me.
The driver behind me (a little old man) was not as lucky and hit me full force. He must have still been going 100 (kmh). My car spun around before settling into the guard rail. A miracle I walked away. The car a 75 Chrysler New Yorker was a write off. It was crushed like a tin can except for my drivers side. Yes a miracle.
My only ever accident 18 years ago.
The year was 1984, I was home on leave after getting out of bootcamp (Navy) I went down and bought a 1974 Pontiac Catalina, a real boat, it was my first car, I had owned it a full 3 days before my first accident, I was sitting at a red light when all of a sudden I lurched forward with great force, I was struck from behind.. I was pissed, and being just 18 not knowing the law at ALL I knew I was ok so I stomped on the gas.. there was a little hesitation and then I was free.. well the lady that hit me followed me for almost 2 miles before I pulled over to talk to her, I was fully insured and quite legal.. and I knew the accident was HER fault not mine so I didn't really care what she had to say.. she approached my window and was apologizing a lot.. she said she THOUGHT the light was green.. She had a little girl that was in the front seat and wasn't in a seatbelt either, this was before that law was enforced, so I got out of my car and walked to the back to see the "damage" to my car when I had to laugh.. the ONLY sign that there was an accident was the small traces of metal on my trailer hitch.. which had impaled her BRAND NEW CADDY (Cadillac) right through the radiator.. she had lost all her coolant and her water pump was destroyed.. not even a tail light on my car was damaged.. I looked at her and said, I am fine.. I would worry about how YOU are going to get home... we were out in the middle of nowhere.. the nearest anything was about 4 miles away.. so I left her.. yes I was mean and heartless.. I was also 18 years old and was involved in my first accident and wasn't really thinking. cell phones were NOT available to everyone back then. Do I regret leaving her and her daughter alone? Yes. I do... but nothing changes the fact that I DID leave them. that was 21 years ago.
