I'm getting mixed reports so - can any reliable Queen fan (= somebody who can recognize It's A Beautiful Day!) or an Eminem fan (:-) confirm or deny if:
- It's A Beautiful Day (remix) was the last song before the lights turned off?
- Eminem's Lose Yourself was the intro song (in the darkness) before Reachin' Out?
I'm asking about both Newcastle and Manchester. If these songs weren't played, then what was the intro? Lights off and Reachin' Out followed immediately?

ok the intro was
Its a beautiful day remix
then eminem lose yourself
I think the beautiful day was the last track before the lights went off, yesim almost certain it was then it went to lose yourself followed by reaching out! (p.s, i was at newcastle so there you go!)
I was at Brixton and Manchester.
As we all know Brixton had Track 13 followed by LoseYourself before reaching out.
Manchester had LoseYourself and Reaching Out before the show.
After the show they played a snippet of Track 13
From memory the Music they played was something like this...
Hayseed Dixie - Feel like makin love
Guns N Roses - Sweet Child o Mine
Led Zep - Immigrant Song (or was it Kashmir)
Lights went out
Drone with Small Piano piece for a few seconds then Lose Yourself (not sure if this is the intro part of Lose Yourself as im not an Eminem Fan). Brian Played a few chords along with the Eminen tape whilst stood behind the curtain
Then
spotlight on PR singing Reaching out at front of Runway.
This was quite good as PR doesnt walk down the runway from the stage - he either walks under it and appears in a trap door or he walks down the side of it at floor level and then mounts the runway at the front.
By the way Brian was having really serious technical problems during the early parts of the show. Following the intro part of Crazy Little Thing, he went to get his red special to play the middle section and solo. That didnt work at all, so he swapped for a Red Special copy which didnt work at first, He was looking over to Pete his tech and was explaining he had no sound, with less than a second to spare his guitar came alive and he effortlessly knocked out the solo - true pro that he is.
He also dropped his sixpence towards the end of the song and it looked as hough he snapped his top e string tho i couldnt be sure of this as i wasnt that close.
Later in the show his middle AC30 was replaced (centre amp in centre row).
As well as this there were the crackles etc which caused him to restart hammer to fall. (these he blamed on interference on the radio mikes from the local taxi co)
From an audience point of view these crackles werent really too disturbing apart from a couple of in the quieter version of Hammer. At all other times i didnt notice any of these.
Having now seen Queen/Rog/Brian in various guises etc over 17 times i must say this was one of the most enjoyable shows. Brian seemed to really enjoy the latter part of the show once the intial difficulties were overcome, with quite a lot of rapport between him and PR especially.
Definitely a better show than Brixton, this was tighter, slicker and generally more fun.
Cant wait for the next.
Added Bonus was Peter Kay and Patrick McGuinness appeared before the encore and had a little banter with the crowd re the max and Paddy theme tune and a bit of Amarillo. they then re-introduced Queen explaining they were going to play Under pressure which they had rehearsed that afternoon.
At the end of the encores PK & PM also appeared for a Bow.
OK, so Lose Yourself stays on (it has a piano intro) but no more It's A Beautiful Day remix before the gig.
"This was quite good as PR doesnt walk down the runway from the stage - he either walks under it and appears in a trap door or he walks down the side of it at floor level and then mounts the runway at the front."
Yes, he walks with the security along the catwalk. It's dark and the security covers him so 99% of people don't see him.
"Later in the show his middle AC30 was replaced (centre amp in centre row)."
He uses only one AC30 out of the nine (I always thought it's the centre amp in the lowest row) and two others for the stereo effects and stuff. Why he has 6 spare amps, I don't know.
I seem to recall an interview in which he said he used 3 amps with 3 for backup and the other 3 were spares.
From memory the bottow two rows were ready for action but i cant remember if he said the bottom ones were primary and middle row was secondary or vice versa.
I think it was on BM.com but not sure.
If you look on link, it explains the 9 AC30 setup. They are actually three sets of three. In each set, one is used as 'standard' while they other two are set at diferent levels of delay for solos etc. However, due to the level that brian plays them at, along with the AC30's tendency to get rather toasty, he has a custom built switching system, which switches from one set of three to the next at the click of a pedal, so that three amps are on, while six cool down. There you go, you learn something new every day!
